Expander Assigning - analogbrainsurgeon - 05-01-2020

Are individual expander outputs assignable to a modular track? If not now, is this something that can be implemented in the future? I've read the manual pretty carefully and don't see this feature listed. I have all three expanders and love nerdseq, but when I'm making a track and want to sequence complex modulations from the CV16 outputs I have to use two separate tracks and get lost going back and forth between tracks trying to remember which steps to place values or envelopes on. So for instance, I'd like to assign four or five of the expander outputs to modular track one where my note values and trigger inputs are place . This is important because using one track for trigger values and another track for cv values gets confusing and slows down the process a lot. Is it or will it be possible to make expander outputs directly available within the modular/melodic track screen? This would also help because giving up one track for the trigger expander and one track for the cv expander leaves me with four tracks to write music on and most of the time I only need a few of the extra triggers or cv outputs, and other times it gets confusing trying to remember which trigger and which cv values go with which musical track since they are all lumped into one trigger track or one cv track. Thank you Smile

Short answer: no. It is not possible to fill in that much information in the columns like NSA2->CV output 9- of the CV16 expander >Note Value-> D#4

But: You can set the triggers/gates also from the CV16 columns. There you can use a column for the local (or other) tracks and then for the triggers/gates/notes.

Ok, in that case could they be added as fx and routed to a cv16 output in the future? So instead of adding more pages or columns to the modular track interface, an fx column could be used to assign a mod value to a cv16 output (modular track 1 ->fx column ->fx parameter cv16 output 1, value 400 or SR envelope)?

Also, if using CV16 for triggers, how do we set the trigger/gate length and how do we address delay/repeat?

That is exactly the problem and not possible. There is too much information you would need in the FX column to archieve this.
Expander Number, Type of Expander, Type of expander function, Output number for that, and the value.

They are 2 standard triggers available and gate is as usual SET Gate and Reset Gate. Else you can use the local trigger from the FX as usual. That is suitable for most needs.

Just to compare, they are rarely any sequencers (Hard and Software) where you can change all values and stuff for multiple connected (or virtual) gear controlled from only one track.
