Hi,
I’m preparing a performance rig and wondering if the original MIDI IO Expander can power a midi splitter such as the Quadra Thru 4 over MIDI? Trying to save myself from carrying another power adapter!
Thanks,
K

I expect it will be able and no problem to power it. Though with all passive midi thru boxes, keep in mind that these are never 100% supported as they are not following the midi specifications! So all at your risk. Be sure yout test this well and long enough.

Aah, thanks much. I have an iConnect MIDI 4+ for the home studio, which is powered and great, but I’d rather not take apart the connections. Let me look into powered options as well for the travel MIDI box. Otherwise, point taken, will test thoroughly before the show!
