With the new device coming out, I’m considering making a few changes to my box. Was wondering if this would be possible:
A sweet sixteen fader I2c into the Nseq
The Nseq out to two ER-301s
+ How might I include a just friends in there or am I out of I2c
———
Is it possible to split an I2c signal to two different destinations. I know two I2c masters is not good.
I don’t own a just friends but it seems interesting.

2 ER301 and a Just friends should theoretically work since these are all 3 followers (assuming they are all set to a different address.
And indeed, 2 Leaders on one line are not possible.
My current tiny case has Crow, ER-301, TXi, & Nerdseq but I may have to take out the TXi to fit the i2c expander. Right now Crow is the leader but it can be changed to a follower when necessary. I also have a teletype but moved it to a different case when I bought the nerdseq, but the external i2c port on the expander has me curious to see if I can put the teletype and TXi into a 4ms pod and marry it to the Nerdseq...

I am curious about that, too. We got to see how and how deep the implementations will be in the end. The teletype is a leader-only one and will so only give either instructions or will request values (as with like the TXi or the 16n). I am pretty sure they are use-cases popping up on the way and I will review these and the integration with the NerdSEQ.
What I won't to is to integrate the full I2C stack of the teletype. Mostly since this is all very specific stuff and in the end the most interesting stuff are the CV and Gate values.
A liitle update about that:
Up to 4 x sweet 16 / 16n (if in follower mode and each got its own address (I will provide updated 16n firmwares to use a different address)) are possible per I2C Port on the NerdSEQ. So a setup like 2x er301 and 4x 16n is definitely possible!!!

I have a 16n and sweet16 followers but I can't figure out how to change the adress of one of them to use them both with port A and port B. Could you tell me how to do that, and if it's the only thing I have to do, or if it's something else, please? Maybe something in the settings (well I will change one adress in the settings of the nerdseq after that)

Hey,
the thing is that you need a firmware which is set to a different address. Depending on which 16n you got you can probably do that in their online tool. I understand that they are different hardware versions so there is no generic file that would work for all.
If you only got these 2 units and nothing else on the I2C bus, then you can connect one to one port and then 16N->NS 1-16 and the other one on the other port to 16N-NS 17-32.
Both should work then while one generates faders 1-16 and the other one 17-32.

Hello,
thanks for your answer. So i have a atov 16n faderbank (waiting for their answer if i can change the adress with their help because i couldt find how to do it on the web editor), and a sweetsixteen mk2 by tesseract.
Actually the solution you propose doesn't seem to fit my needs, or maybe I didn't understand something.
I want to be able to control, let's say for instance the ADSR parameters of env#1 of the nerdseq. So far, I could do it with this setting : midi/i2C setup > i2C A mode : NS ->16N 1-16. I thought there would be something like i2C B mode : NS ->16N 17-32 but there isn't.
So I guess with the setting i2C A mode : NS -> 2X 16N 1-32 could work, but I don't know how to do to connect the 2 i2c controllers to only A port.
Do I have to chain them somehow?
And I also tried the settings you mentioned, but then, the multi IO doesn't receive the signal anymore from the faders (no light blinking on the multi IO expander)
