Hi there, i'm a 5-year NerdSeq owner and have mostly read on here for guidance and the wealth of knowledge Thomas and everyone here has. This is my first post, and I believe i've gone through all guildelines to no avail. I hope someone can help
I have searched the forum for any other users with this issue, read the manual etc. Nothing yet
Basically I installed the latest Firmware in my nerdseq and installed my video I/O expander. All running great with no issues.
Then out of nowhere my cursor just started jumping multiple positions everywhere. On every screen this happens and I'm not sure if its a button/hardware issue?
Basically one click of the cursor up or down makes it move two and sometimes three places. Making a simple selection in any screen requires you to use the cursor up and down many times before you get lucky and it lands on the proper place you wanted to get to.
I've tried re-installing the firmware, soft resetting and it's still doing it. I'm posting the issue here because it makes it very hard to navigate anything on NerdSeq and alot more time comsuming.
I've also noticed now that the startup screen flashes white twice instead of once as it did before. Not sure if this is related or not but I thought i'd mention it.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!!
Oh hey.
Did you connect both cables to the video expander? It looks like you get ‘ghost’ input from that. (The cable to the midi part maybe not connected properly) And maybe you need to disable the sega gamepad function as well if you don’t use it.
It sounds at least like this.
If that doesn’t work, disable the video part again and check
if the problem disappears.
The double white flashing is normal when video is enabled.
So let me know and else we can get through some other possibilities.

Hi! And thanks for such a quick reply. The video expander is plugged into the correct midi and NSA ports, but I will double check the connections. I wasn’t having so much trouble with the video as much as the random double skipping cursor that began suddenly, it’s on the nerdseq screen as well. Maybe they are related? The gamepad function is currently disabled though. I really can’t figure out why the cursor just started jumping around. Thanks!
If you disable the video expander in the setup (completely disable), will the random moving disappear?
It really could be a the 2 cables not connected properly then.

I just tried, having only the NerdSeq powered with nothing else plugged in and the problem is still there. Could it be something shorted on the buttons? It’s happening on all cursor directions by the way.

But video disabled for 100%?

Yep, video expander was completely disconnected from NerdSeq 100% :/

I mean disabled completely in the setup screen. Not only disconnected.
Oh wait!
Change the key delay and repeat in the setup screen. They might have wrong settings
Repeat of around 50ms and a delay of about 100 would be ok.

Problem solved! thank you so much! I will be sure not to alter those settings. Your help is greatly appreciated
