Wait.. are you telling me all the music I wrote on RC will never be able to be played on any future firmwares?? Is there a way to convert those to a usable format? I unfortunately have a ton of stuff I wrote on RC
Man, i mentioned several times that the Release Candidates are not for productive use and that i can only guarantee compatibility between stable versions. Mentioned on the RC thread and also on this thread here.
Anyway before getting mad, they are 2 solutions for it.
1: Load with the RC version and make photos of the patterns so you can manually copy them ( only if these are small projects).
2: If these are this mega big projects, i offer to upgrade the project files. This takes me also some time which i can't use elswhere then. So use with caution...
...I got to disable saving with Releace Candidates the next time ;-)
So nothing is lost :dancing banana:
Oh it's OK, I'm not actually mad - I should have just paid better attention. Sorry about that! It's really only one large file that houses an entire live set : can probably live with losing the other work, or re-track it. I know you don't have much time but I may just send it to you anyway for whenever you can get to it. Otherwise, I can always just revert to the 1.14RC to perform it live.
Quick question, if I create a file in the new firmware, will I be able to open it in 1.14RC? Like, is the incompatibility both ways or could I track on the new firmware and perform those on an RC?
Yeah. Let me analyse your project file. I will see that i can fix it for V1.16. You are not the only one, and i expect that i have to do the work only once and it fits to all the projects.
Projects saved with V1.16 are not loadable wih V1.14 or older. Only older projects (from stable versions) can be loaded with V1.16 or newer.

Do you hold the correct buttons like with or before power on? SHIFT + COPY + CURSOR UP... it must enter the Bootloader mode.
First off let me answer your questions yes the .Hex file was in the firmware folder. But today I checked the folder and it appeared to be empty so I put a .Hex file in it and it then showed 2 pages but still showed 2.22 in the folder. But today instead of the download blue box I get a red box and it says
"Drive handle invalid try again" and yes I am hollding the three buttons down shift +copy+ cursor up on power. What can I say its beyond me.
I don't get it. First the NerdSEQ can't delete any files, so i am not sure why the firmware folder was empty.
Also i don't understand the '2 pages / showed 2.22 in de folder'.
If the correct file 'nerdseq.hex' is in the firmware folder, then the startup should recognise the file for flashing. If there is the red box in the first place, keep holding the buttons until it has restarted by itself again, if they are still error messages after like 2-3 continous startups, it might make sense to re-format the SD card (backup the content before, format and copy back) or even replace it.
Well I have tried every sugestion you gave and no luck. I bought a sandisc 32g card put the software on and nothing.Formated both cards nothing put the card in at every micro-angle to make sure everything was touching well you get the idea. I have not seen tv since I got this. This should have take 20 min tops i'm on 20 hrs. I need some sage like advice Mr. Wizard.
Hey i am really sorry to hear this. It should be a job of 2 minutes normally and i expect it to work.( Because thats how i put the software on your NerdSEQ in the first place).
I think a 32GB card could also be a problem.(Doesn't have to) I would normally recommend 1 - 8 GB cards formated with either FAT or FAT32.
I'll get in touch with you to solve your problem.
I just checked about the Invalid Drive Handle Error message and it turns out thats the message if the NerdSEQ can't find the firmware file 'nerdseq.hex' in the firmware folder on the SD Card. And in your case it is most probably cause it was saved as 'nerdseq.hex.txt' which some browsers seem to do automatically if not changed manually.
I will add that information also to the manual.

Thomas nailed it down for me.
It took about a week to fix the problem and he was there every day helping out. I geuss I copy and pasted so much that I ended up with .txt on my hex file and it took a while to nail it down. Most of it was my fault I lacked the basic pc skills to perform the task that thomas needed to get the process rollin but every day I would wake up and find an email from the land of xor he finally had to send a zip file to me with every thing there in order cleared the sd card and put all the new info on in the right order two minutes later I was doin the happy dance.
So if your having trouble there is probably an easy answer unless you have never compressed a file or used a zip file before (Guilty)
