Once inside the Pattern switch to Note mode set the Midi channel on LP note mode to 2 - then you can set Nerdseq Midi Step ch to 2 for step editing depending on cursor position. For recording/live play set Nerdseq Midi Ch 2 to Track 1 Input/Record or whatever track you want note play. Set Nerdseq to record and if settings also correspond you should be recording notes enter from the LP..

I've also noticed that the Launchpad only interacts with the NerdSeq if assigned to MIDI channel 1. If I assign it to any other channel, nothing happens, and on some occasions would prevent NerdSeq from interacting with the Launchpad at all until I powercycle the NerdSeq.

That has nothing to do with the NerdSEQ. Someone mentioned somewhere that the Launchpad Pro can only be used on Midi Channel 1. So check the Launchpad manual to see whats possible and what not.

As for the expander steps....not a bad idea. my idea was to show the drumgrid in steps of 8. But the idea of using 8 different 64 step parts is good and i will definitely try it out how it 'feels'.

Exit pattern back to sequencer press the LP button labelled "User" top right.

As I said before this works well for tracks 1 to 6 but if you enter a sample pattern on track 7 or 8 the only way out is to use nerdseq sequencer button.

Thanks for all your help got it working now , do you have any of the expanders , as when I go to track setup and select the expander then come out to the sequencer the track is set to modular again do you need to do something else to save it .

You got only to press SET below. If you leave the track assign screen without set then it's not set.

They are inserted in the drum matrix screen. Not in the regular triggers 1..8

I've searched the forum but not found any reference to that function.

To do. Assignment of all functions to Midi CC.
How do access the channel 9 to 16 on the launchpad and step 9 - 64 .

Channel 9..16: not or if the track is swapped, then it's only 9..16
Step 9..64 -> right LP buttons.
Triggers 9/16 on the expander how do you access them on the launchpad and how do do live input of notes .

Swap Track in the track setup and you have triggers 9..16 available.
Keep in mind that it is assigned to the track then.

Inputof notes is now described already. Please refer to the Launchpad manual on how to set it to note mode and use the good channel on NerdSEQ and LP for Note recording. LP acts just as a Midi keyboard then.
Thanks what is the good channel on the nerdseq ?
