The channel you set up yourself.

Input/Record Setup -> Midi Channel X -> Track Y Record

It is all flexible from which midi channel to record into a chosen track.
Sorry for being stupid but cant figure how to swap track in the tack setup for 9to16 , do I assign another track to the expander ?

In the track setup menu (either using OK from Track assign menu or shift+nerd to open the Nerd menu and track setup from the sequencer screen).
Then track 1..8 can be swapped to 9..16. Keep in mind that this is a setting which stays as it is.
Thanks got that working now , I have tried setting up to record notes but only the trigger is being recorded .

Then you still didn't set up your launchpad well and didn't switch to the midi channel to record. I can't help you here as i don't have a LaunchPad Pro.

Does this look like the right settings on the nerdseq

You are Missing:
Nerdseq -> Set Midi Channel 2   to  X track input ------ LP pro Set NOTE MODE to Channel 2

Switch to Note MODE on LP and you can enter notes Wink
Midi step Channel 2 should be turned off. It is only for if you are in the pattern on a step with the cursor.
Live input is only for the CV inputs, so turn that off as well.

I suggest to put Midi channel 4 to the track you want to record on as i get problems (as in gets other commands than the usual) with the Launchpad MK2 when receiving notes on channels 1..3. Channel 4 seem to be safe. Don't know about the LP Pro, but it doesn't matter here anyway which midi channel, so using some higher is safe. Set the Launchpad Note mode to the same midi channel.
Press Record (or play and meanwhile you play record, because just then it starts to record). A pattern on the track has to play to be able to record into it.
About the CV input and recording. I was experimenting and searching for the problems i had while recording. Test keyboard was the Arturia Keystep, which i thought would be perfect to test. But the results were very bad, while the trigger was right, the notes often arrived one step too late.

I now found out that this is a problem with the keystep, it has quite a slew between notes. I researched for it and directly got to the information that it is not only my unit:

That means the Keystep is causing the problems that i have. What i will do is to add a adjustable delay for CV recording, so also here the correct notes are filled in on the correct steps. However, i am not sure how tricky this is going to be, as the sequencer can already be on another step when the voltage is stable....they are probably the same issues with the BSP.
I will do my best to get the release ready soon. Some more surprises are in there...

Once I used CV input of Nerdseq to record a piece from another sequencer (Cirklon). Everything went even better than I expected - notes and triggers were in place. What was little bit difficult - to find "right" Nerdseq groove setting (time signature) what fits correctly together with Cirklon clock. At the end of the day I have tried different Cirklon clocks to get the right division and leave Nerdseq groove as it was.
