Just some additional information about the USB-Midi Interface (and so the Launchpad Mode).
I finally got my hands again on my Launchpad Mini MK3 and I can confirm that it does fully work with the upcoming USB-Midi Interface for the NerdSEQ.
What you should know is that I will release another Firmware before I continue with the USB-Midi Interface. So please stay tuned.
a firmware for the usb midi interface? or something else.
Good news about the mini mk3!

General Firmware update, unrelated to the USB Midi interface first.

Does the launchpad integration extend to the launchkey or would this just be the same as any other midi keyboard?

No, just the launchpads. [And, without weird hacks, currently only those with physical MIDI.]

I am using a Launchpad Pro MK3. Very excited by the nerdseq and continued development.
I can't locate the shift function in Sequencer mode - the bottom row of the matrix is blank (not red), and button presses do not function as shift. I am in programmer mode of course, as this is a Mk3. Anyone with a Pro MK3 encountered this?

You mean the bottom row as the additional buttons on the LP?
For the pro models which do have the bottom and left row, these are not used at all. Only the top and right row is used. The 8th pad on the right column is the shift button for the LP functions. Check the manual for all the functionality of the buttons.

Ok, my mistake - I get it now. Thanks for clarifying. One more question. In pattern mode, any step that I activate on the LP is set to E1 - a 1x ratchet. Is there a way to specify what kind of trigger gets set via the LP?

There is no other specification in the current version but only E1 which is half a step.
I plan to make this possible to edit once I will update the LP functions for the new Midi Interface
