Did it? Then I got to check that.

I just tested it and new patterns get still this chimery colour as it used to be for me. Tested with Launchpad PRO.

Well dang, I will look into it again tonight, but my rig definitely was setting the default color to None. I wonder if I had the LP configured incorrectly. I will check again tonight. Thank you for the quick response!
Just wanted to check:
A Launchpad Mini MK3 is sitting at my place, waiting to maybe become useful with the NerdSeq. Is it part of the plan to look at the Mini at some point, or should I try to sell it and buy one of the older ones? I've tried getting it to work in 2–3 sessions, but so far no luck. Will probably get the USB expander once it arrives.
Thanks!
The plan is to get it working, but only once i got the usb expander ready. If you can select other devices with your USB adapter (MK3 has
Multiple) then you can get it working. If not, then not. I get it working with proper routing via a PC so the potential is there that it works. It is just the usb/midi adapters in the way at the moment.
Thanks! That clears it right up. Will probably wait for the expander.
Hey Everyone,
Are people still having issues navigating the Trigger 16 channel in their Launchpads? Mine does not really work well and it is still tough to get it to navigate. Thanks!

I really dig the idea of interfacing a launchpad with the NerdSeq and saw that the
Launchpad Mk2 is enabled in the firmware.
Though the Launchpad Mk2 has USB only and no midi breakouts so I am wondering how people are interfacing the Launchpad Mk2 currently? Is there some device that I am not aware of that can breakout USB to MIDI while still powering a device? Do I need to route it via Ableton via my USB-MIDI dongle? Is there black magic involved? How many chickens do I need to sacrifice?
They are USB midi host adapters like the retrokits rk005. Or through a computer is also possible.
The easiest might still be the launchpad pro mk1 since it has the midi ports and is not expensive anymore.
I aim to have the USB midi expander ready in Q1 2021.

I see. I just reconfigured my midi setup. I have my KeyStep connected via USB to Ableton. I have a very simple USB - MIDI/IN MIDI/OUT interface. I can send MIDI via Ableton through the interface to the NerdSeq. The only downfall is that I need to have a MIDI track in Ableton, set the MIDI output to my USB MIDI interface and arm the channel for recording before the MIDI is actually sent over the interface. Which is cumbersome. I understand that a setup like this can work for the Launchpad Mk2 but will not be optimal at all.
Alright. Launchpad Pro Mk1 it is.
(Hello Marktplaats my old friend)
ps. about the USB midi expander can/will this replace the original MIDI expander if I connect all my MIDI gear to my laptop (via USB or a MIDI hub)?
