Hello, I have downsized to a smallish system (2x84hp) and I would like to plan for some NerdSEQ expansion.

How many hp is the planned HDMI/USB expander? What are the USB capabilities; MIDI, keyboard, gamepad support? For a USB keyboard will there be customizable or multiple keymaps/layouts available (mnemonic hotkeys for non-qwerty users)?

I have heard rumors of an oscillator module?! Can you spare any details: planned hp, features, I/O, availability (months/years)? I am in the market for an oscillator to pair with the SEQ.

Thank you!
I am really curious excited about the video expander  Big Grin
The new firmware is amazing btw  Heart

It will most probably be 6 or 8 HP.
The USB capabilities are USB-Keyboard input (i use a querty keyboard and i think it is possible to handle also a few other often used sets).
About the keymap, i still got to decide how deep i'm going to do this in the first place. I will probably try to handle old tracker standard keys as much as possible, but in many ways this is also not possible, since most old tracker use also relies often on additional mouse navigation.
Anyway, we'll see but i can guarantee already that i will not make a it a complete new project. As being a side function, i will make it well usable with some extras.
It will not have Midi-USB support, though i can let it run with a basic midi-in only situation. (Connected a keystep and it seems to work). The USB-Midi will be a different module.
Gamepad is also a possibility which works here and i got to work it out more. It will for sure not support all available gamepads/joysticks out there and i am not aiming to do this. But the basic ones i tested here do work. (I will probably provide also working gamepads with it )

At last, the dualchord is a 2 times 4 voice oscillator module and beside being oscillators to create paraphonic sounds, it will most probably also be a complete polyphonic voice. But thats still something to finish and find out if the ressources allow all that. But oscillators with extras is guaranteed.

Video Expander is scheduled for this year, though production takes like 4-6 weeks, so it might really be the end of the year as i got to test the latest prototype first which will be in the coming week.

To be continued...
Very much looking forward to the video expander Big Grin Will it still have composite out, too?
Yes
Thank you for your amazing work.
I’m hoping to use my Keystep to program the NERDSEQ. Is there any reason, advantage to wait for the USB-MIDI expander or should I just grab the MIDI I/O? I also have some older MIDI Controllers I haven’t used in ages, like the UC-33, but I believe these also have 5-pin MIDI. I’m still early in my NERDSEQ learning journey. Been using a hybrid setup with Ableton, and I’m trying to stretch my imagination into something different, more simplified perhaps, to see what it’s like to remove the laptop from the mix for live performance!
The Midi I/O or the 2HP Midi would be the way to go at first. The USB Midi will be march or later...
Hey,

Hope you don`t mind me asking since this might the appropriate place. How many ports will the new USB-MIDI expander have? One USB and additional MIDI-IO? Are those gonna be full midi sockets or midi jacks?

1x USB Host, 1x USB Device, TRS-A Midi Jacks and some small extra stuff.
