Hi Guys,

I finally set up my MIDI I/O with the NERDSEQ and BitBox.  It’s fantastic being able to sequence the Bitbox without the cables!

The live record is going to be killer for me.  I’ve setup my Keystep so each MIDI Channel 1-8 corresponds to Live Record on Tracks 1-8.  It all works quite well.

The only thing, is when I put the cursor, say on the column for Note 3, and live record notes which sequence pads on my Bitbox, the notes record with accurate timing (and play the right notes and velocities), but the recorded notes are distributed across the four Note columns, not just the column I have the cursor in.  I’d like to keep them in one column for organization.  Any idea on what I’m doing wrong?

Some sort of MIDI drum matrix would be great to MIDI sequence one shots - with Labels across the top for the MIDI Notes that I could rename (e.g. C3 -> Kick 1, C#3 -> Kick 2, D3 -> Snare and so on).  Then little boxes I could check at respective steps, with a field for velocity (i.e. volume).

I don’t think the More Triggers (which opens up access to the Drum Matrix interface) would offer me much (as I’m sequencing with MIDI versus CV).  I only have room for one of the expanders and think the more CV will really complete my setup, in terms of sequencing modulation.

Thanks,

RWSD
This is because recording is basically polyphonic.
But you can reduce the record voices down to 1 (Track Setup-> Record Voices) which will then be monophonic and it will end up in the first column only.
You can copy then to other columns is desired and record new sequences to the first column.
Ah yes... midi drum matrix...check the threads
