Page Up/Down should work in Setup, Project and Env/LFO Settings Screens
Posted by: mgd - 08-30-2021, 03:35 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (1)

Hi!

This is hopefully just a minor thing:
I would like to use the UP/DOWN keys to scroll by a page through the Setup, Project and the Envelope/LFO settings screens.

Kind regards,
Michael

Switch sample on all steps at once
Posted by: JX3D - 08-27-2021, 10:47 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (2)

Would be nice to be able to switch samples on all steps in a sample track (on one of the 4 sounds). I know I can load something else, but for example if using it as a synth, and I want to change all steps from to Saw to Sine. One place to do it could be in the Track Setup window, where the sample is shown. Then if pressing OK on that sample it should change the sample on all steps in the current pattern. SHIFT-OK could do it globaly on all patterns in that track.

I am still a rookie on this great device, so it may already be possible. I just haven't found it yet?

Swing setting for internal BPM generator
Posted by: touandreg - 08-27-2021, 01:05 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (10)

It would be nice if you could set not only internal BPM in NerdSeq but also 16th note's swing of this internal BPM.

I am aware of the ability to make swing via groove/ticks column - it is great when you want total control over groove or nerding strange combinations of groove on different tracks. But sometimes you just want swing on your whole setup and that's it. Global setting of swing would be quite handy solution.

  New launch mode
Posted by: theotteryears - 08-27-2021, 12:55 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (6)

“added launch mode function. beside the regular launch possibilities there is now an additional synchronizing to queuepoints/zero cross launchmode (Setup -> Pattern Launch Type)”

This is in the new firmware. Could someone let me know if this does what I think it does…

If I had a pattern of 15 beats and another pattern playing at 16 beats. They would both change on the queue point using this new launch mode?

Previously the pattern in 15 would finish its cycle before changing - which then was out of sync with the other patterns.

This new way they will all change on the queue point together?

Thanks!

  Disable Clock and Reset outputs
Posted by: Paranormal Patroler - 08-26-2021, 12:42 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (6)

Hi,

I know this might sound weird, but would it be possible to have an option that disables the continuous clock output (Settings clock output Y/N) and the reset output? Since I can use SPFX to pulse, reset, set both the Reset and the Clock outputs, I would like to take advantage of those outputs without the continuous clock ticking. It would allow me to decide when and where I want to clock other devices, using SPFX, without having to lose any of the gate or expander outputs.

Just a small idea that should be easy to do, I hope.

  Strange/unexpected behaviour of ^46 on CV16
Posted by: mgd - 08-23-2021, 09:56 PM - Forum: Beauty and less important bugs/glitches - Replies (2)

Hi!

I'm making progress w/r to shaping the trigger/gates of the CV16 to my liking.

I now have the following problem or at least unexpected behaviour:
I currently mostly use ^40 (envelope 4 as AR envelope) for my notes and with proper settings for Attack and Release that sounds ok and looks fine on my scope. I also have a couple of ^46 spread where there were longer notes that I wanted to end at the time I placed the ^46.
What I see on the scope and also hear is that the ^46 creates a short spike/trigger although the envelope is already at 0. That is unexpected as I had expected ^x6 essentially ends/stops the current modulator (in case of an envelope sends it to 0).

Is there a reason for this spike/trigger or is that a bug?

Kind regards,
Michael

  MIDI retrigger effect

Any plans to include this? Would be very useful for my amen-ing.  Cool Might be an issue with MIDI note offs?

Gate length on CV16 tracks with 16th notes
Posted by: mgd - 08-22-2021, 03:43 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (1)

Hi!

With 16th notes on CV16 tracks I don't know of a proper way to control the length of the gate for the envelopes as there is essentially just a single field to enter the envelope. A>R (i.e. ^x0) gives a very short gate while A>S (i.e. ^x1) results in a gate essentially the whole 16th note long. Is there a way to have the gate e.g. a 32th note long? Or generally end the gate a (configurable) number of ticks before the end of the note?

Or is this feature request material?

Kind regards,
Michael

PS: I'm aware I could achieve that by (temporarily) doubling the speed of the track and thus have 2 steps/rows per 16th which would allow for more detailed control for 16th, but that

  • seems a waste of patterns
  • requires additional attention to keep patterns in synch over various tracks
  • would then create the same problem for 32th notes (should I want to use them)
Cool

Trigger for CV16 outputs on CV16 tracks?
Posted by: mgd - 08-22-2021, 03:31 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (1)

Hi!

The CV16 envelopes are fine for many of my use cases. However occasionally I wish to use an external ADSR that I'd like to trigger. In some cases I can use the envelopes, namely A>R (i.e. ^x0, x == 1..8) but I found that does not reliably work with all my ADSRs. While Doepfer A-140 and A-143-2 work fine (mostly), 2hp Pluck does not (most of the time).

Is there a way to create proper trigger on CV16 and how?
Or is this feature request material?

Kind regards,
Michael

  SHIFT+UP+DELETE leaves stuff behind
Posted by: mgd - 08-22-2021, 03:19 PM - Forum: Beauty and less important bugs/glitches - Replies (1)

Hi!

I have a pattern on a CV16 track. 40 (aka 64) steps long. I place the cursor in row 00, column 1 (top leftmost) and hit SHIFT+MARK. Now I move the cursor to row 2F, column 6 (3rd page, bottom right) and hit SHIFT+UP+DELETE.

My expectation is now the content of former rows 30-3F is in rows 00-0F and the rows 10-3F are empty.
What I find is that there is content in 00-0F (haven't checked carefully if it actually is from formerly 30-3F) and there also is content in 10-2F. 30-3F were empty in my test.

Am I doing something silly/stupid or is there a problem with SHIFT+UP+DELETE in CV16 patterns?

Kind regards.
Michael

PS: I have a work around in that I SHIFT+MARK all the rows 30-3F, hit SHIFT+MARK again, move to row 00, column 1 and hit SHIFT+COPY and then delete rows 10-3F. But that is less comfortable.
