  Two NerdSeqs vs Expanders
Posted by: hardnut - 05-23-2019, 09:22 PM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (4)

If I'm doing some crazy polyphonic stuff which takes up four tracks of CV, trigger & mod and then wanting to have a few different melodic and drum patterns over the top of that, I'm needing more than the 6 CV tracks of the one NerdSeq I have.

Is it mad to think of having two NerdSeqs running together? Would MIDI be the best way to sync two together (but, if so, I guess I'd need another Midi expander for the 2nd NerdSeq)? Or will clock in/out & reset in/out do the job just fine?

Or would a combination of the More CV and More Triggers expanders get me close to what two NerdSeqs could do?

I'm guessing that expanders being controlled by a single NerdSeq isn't going to be quite as flexible as two NerdSeqs with a total of 12 fully independent CV tracks?

  Automators and beat divisions
Posted by: theotteryears - 05-20-2019, 08:03 AM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (7)

I have a question regarding the automators - specifically when using the white noise (random).

How do I set this so it changes exactly every 1/4 note? or every bar? I'm having trouble figuring out how to trigger this so I get a new random value on a musical division.

If this isn't possible could I request it as a feature? So you can quickly set your LFO for example to trigger on beat divisions easily.

If I've missed something, sorry! hope you can let me know how to do this.

Remember cursor position in the pattern screen
Posted by: bovaflux - 05-19-2019, 09:26 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (6)

Not sure if this one is actually a bug report or feature request, but whenever you enter the pattern screen, the cursor always resets to the top position. On other screens (sequencer, table, automate, project, etc) it always opens the screen with the cursor at the last position you moved it to. I find this quite disorienting on the pattern screen and would much rather it remembered the position.

Transpose selection in "Mark" mode with shift and cursor keys
Posted by: bovaflux - 05-19-2019, 09:04 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (2)

I noticed that shift and up, down, left and right don't do anything currently in "Mark" mode. Not sure about anyone else but I'd REALLY like to be able to use shift UP/DOWN on a selection in mark mode to transpose the selected notes +/- an octave, and shift LEFT/RIGHT to do the same in semitones.

Wrong note recording for cv inputs
Posted by: lohacker - 05-17-2019, 06:24 AM - Forum: General Questions - Replies (4)

Hello, I'm making some test with note recording in the cv inputs, but the note values recorded doesn't match with what I'm playing on my keyboard (Keystep, CV out-CV 1 in / Trig out-CV2 in). I'm sure the keystep works fine since I regularly use it with other modules and gear. I've also tried with other sequencers in the inputs but have the same problem. Anyone experienced this?

Assign Sample Channels (7,8) as MIDI Out
Posted by: gromler - 05-16-2019, 04:42 PM - Forum: Feature requests - Replies (11)

Hey there!  I know this may not be possible, since it probably would have already been done, but I would love to assign my channel 7 and 8 as MIDI out channels.  This way I can use an external sampler with 2 channels and not eat up my precious 1-6 channels.

Thank you,

I've seen on Instagram that you were using a Launchpad Pro to trigger patterns.
Can we have some details about it please ? Cool

  TRG1..6 Don't Reset?
Posted by: thread - 05-08-2019, 09:44 PM - Forum: Beauty and less important bugs/glitches - Replies (2)

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding something, but I've assigned my 5th track to the 16 Triggers expansion and in FX 1 of my looping pattern, I put `TRG5 040` since this now should be the way I can still fire the "Trigger 5" output.

I expected a 20ms trigger (ON/OFF), but that doesn't seem to be what I get. (I'm still waiting for my Mordax Data...)

If I set a value, it will trigger the first time, but then as it sees the same instruction again, it never fires. If I change the value up or down, including the second digit for retrigs (30, 43, 50, ..) It seems as if it is not falling again like a trig but staying high, like the CV outputs are understood to do?

<3 my Nerdseq. Thanks, Thomas!
