RE: Retrigger/Ratchet Question - XORadmin - 02-22-2021 Don't worry. We are here to help. RE: Retrigger/Ratchet Question - pmarchitect - 02-22-2021 Just throwing my hat in to say again that musical divisions would be far more helpful for everyone. For ratcheting, LFO speed, etc. RE: Retrigger/Ratchet Question - XORadmin - 02-22-2021 (02-22-2021, 04:18 PM)pmarchitect Wrote: Just throwing my hat in to say again that musical divisions would be far more helpful for everyone. For ratcheting, LFO speed, etc. Yeah, but LFO speed is not high on my prios currently and you saw most probably earlier in this thread that ratchets have been added to the latest release candidate (beside that you could create ratchets already with the tables). I think you are covered there. RE: Retrigger/Ratchet Question - Karlo - 02-23-2021 (02-22-2021, 04:10 PM)XORadmin Wrote: Don't worry. We are here to help. Update: I've made great progress last night with NerdSEQ. I played with retriggering from the pattern screen and although I couldn't get perfectly smooth ratcheting sounds, I got pretty close and the miniscule timing differences relative to my BPM were quite pleasing actually. As if my sequence now had a "tracker" vibe to it. Much success! I also was able to successfully hook up a midi controller, in my case Elektron Analog Rtym MkII, use it's transport controls to start/stop NerdSEQ, and to play and record sequences from Rytm's pads! All synced up and IT WAS EASY. Not to mention setting up the midi offset because Rytms C-0 is (IMO) really C-1 so I bumped it up and octave and my oscillator now played (IMO) the correct octave! ...If only there was a way to record unquantized... I've experimented with quite a few of the FX commands over the last few evenings as well. I should start to keep a journal documenting the results so I can better retain which FX and their values are best suited for my workflow. It's unfortunate that I only have a couple hours an evening (they go by quick!) to really explore because I could easily spend endless hours sculpting some chart topping hits from my modular using the NerdSEQ. I'm going to stay on v1.23 until all the bugs are ironed out of the release candidate, but I'm looking forward to it! I don’t have anything specific to contribute regarding this thread’s topic but I just wanted to say that it made me happy to see your update with progress so quickly! We all have our head-scratching moments, and NerdSEQ is a complex, evolving beast (though very approachable, generally consistent, and unnecessarily feared by people ![]() (For what it’s worth, I too am usually one to avoid pre-release versions of most things, so I also understand the position that puts you in right now. There’s nothing wrong with sticking to release versions. ![]() Keep on truckin’! |
