RE: Firmware V1.28 Test Version - Renzki - 10-31-2023 Righto, thanks for that. To summerise what I have understood. Minilab 3 will only send 7bit NRPN, therefore, no need to even wait for the response from their tech team. This is not a NerdSeq issue as it indeed can receive, transmit and record 14b NRPN messages. What I will do today is to try to send a 14 bit NRPN message from Ableton Live as it has a plugin called NRPN Gen 2 that technically does that. So I will attempt to send a ramping control to NerdSeq for this setup and listen to my VCF. PS: yes, my bad, pots states are indeed a ctrl change, noting to do with NRPN. Minilab3 could be different. And you don't have the version yet to receive hi-rez NRPN into the NerdSEQ. I do ;-) For all others as this topic is getting wild: I will start with the manual today!!!!!! RE: Firmware V1.28 Test Version - OhJay - 11-01-2023 I installed 1.28B. I have four notes playing a sine wave (or a sample) on track 8 with no effects no automation nothing routed in the mapping page. If scale is set to anything but chromatic the notes dance around random pitches. When set back to chromatic the notes play normally. RE: Firmware V1.28 Test Version - proxemics - 11-01-2023 @XORadmin, like everyone else is saying, thank you for fantastic work and a lovely vision for the nerd. A quick question that impacts some decisions i have to make: will the mapping matrix / programming allow for pitch bends? They have extra bits, obviously. I'd prefer having pitch bend, even without the LSB, to not (Max has an object like this). I guess another option would be visualizing only the MSB on the UI but having the LSB still be calculated and sent where appropriate? Thanks! Pitch bend, channel pressure, polyphonic aftertouch, nrpn, notes as gates, notes, velocity, cc….name it you get it :-) RE: Firmware V1.28 Test Version - XORadmin - 11-02-2023 I will put the release candidate online in the upcoming week! Going to prepare the manual in the next days, another check through everything, getting the Multi-IO in the box etc... Depending on the notes you have entered, they may or may not be in the scale you select, so they will get quantized to the nearest note that is in the scale. Also, the scale quantization direction is 'COIN' by default, I think. So that would mean that it will quantize to the nearest note up or down based on a coin flip (a.k.a. randomly) each time. If you change it to 'UP' or 'DOWN', you should get a steady set of notes when you change scales. Good point, and I would maybe suggest that the default could/should be either up or down, but not coin flip (IMHO). |
