RE: More CV Expander? - mvdirty - 07-10-2021 With 1.25 on the way, I wonder if we will soon see the CV16 output calibration support previously mentioned as ready but waiting? RE: More CV Expander? - Kid Yoshi - 09-10-2021 Been playing with the CV16 and I placed it on a Sample track and it seems to be working as expected. On the forum and in the manual it says that this should not be used / won't work on the Sample tracks. Has this been fixed? Since V1.24 the sample tracks can be repurposed for MIDI or any of the NSA. What is not working or should be fixed? RE: More CV Expander? - mvdirty - 09-11-2021 Is it perhaps that as of 1.24 this capability was still an easter egg? I’d anticipate the 1.25 manual covering it fully. PS - Thomas, in case you see this: Any word yet on when CV 16 11-point calibration firmware will be released? You’ve previously described it as ready but you wanting to wait until some time after 1.24. Is there a chance of that coming with 1.25? RE: More CV Expander? - Kid Yoshi - 09-14-2021 My bad - I now see it in the manual on page 83: Quote:The last 2 are the audio (sample) tracks at default, but these can also be changed to either Midi or to one of the expanders. This is awesome. I know previously it was mentioned that such a thing would be a big undertaking from XOR to develop but... they went and did it! Legends!! RE: More CV Expander? - Kid Yoshi - 09-14-2021 I'm getting very strange behaviour with my CV 16 - hopefully someone can help me figure out what's going on... I've assigned Track 6 to CV 16. If I then go inside and place notes on Column 1 and wire up the Ext Output 1 to v/Oct of an oscillator I can hear it change pitch. All good. However, if I place those same notes on Column 2 no CV is output. Nothing happens. At first I wondered if the jack was busted but if I place a modulator on Column 2 (like an envelope) it will trigger and change the pitch. It's just not reacting to notes / CV (or random notes / CV). I placed the same notes on the other columns and they play as expected though some sound a little flat. Any ideas? Is this a calibration thing? Firmware thing? Bug? EDIT: OK - I have figured it out - it's because if a column is ever turned into an envelope / LFO as denoted by the little icon in the column track # then setting the column back to a voltage does not work. You have to force stop playback via shift+stop and at this point the CV works again. Kinda weird and a little annoying since if a column is playing and you're moving through parameter values you can easily junk up a track by wandering into the envelope/lfo parameter zone and setting that column to ^10 (for example). It's also a little odd that you can use the CV 16 column parameters TT2 and TD2 to set triggers for other tracks but not for any of the external outputs on the CV 16 itself. For that you have to use envelopes. It's a quirky little expander RE: More CV Expander? - mgd - 09-14-2021 My favourite user error is the voltage switch of the output. If the switch is to the left it is -5V to +5V. In that case a note of e.g. C-2 sends out -3V which for my VCOs results in inaudible sound (8Hz). Flipping the switch to the right it becomes 0V to +10V and C-2 sends +2V which is about 256Hz on my system (i.e. the way I tune my VCOs). Your envelopes probably would react on the range of -5V to +5V too (mine do). Not sure that's what happens to you but it surely happens to me regularly. For the record: I have used Columns 1-5 to feed a chord into my Odessa (+HEL) and I know it works. Kind regards, Michael PS: To debug situations like this I find a scope invaluable. RE: More CV Expander? - Kid Yoshi - 09-14-2021 I agree re: a scope. They're super useful - alas I don't have room in my rack. I do have some LED jacks which work well enough to see what outputs are doing... but yeah... A Mordax Data would be ace. |
