Now this:

It's online, it's in the shop and the manual is uploaded as well. Please take your time to read what it adds to your system and what not!!

WICKED!!!

Cant wait to get hands on more CV, YAY!!!

RE: More CV Expander? - Jefro - 02-25-2020

I ordered 2. I'm really stoked for these. Keep up the good work!

The new firmware looks terrific, and I'm considering getting both a CV16 and a Trigger16. I have a few questions that have arisen during my research:

-- Are the ribbon cables that connect the expanders to the NerdSEQ long enough so that the expander can be mounted on a different row from the NerdSEQ itself? (I found an older thread about this, but it didn't have a conclusive answer.)

-- I assume that the CV16 envelopes are linear? If so, are there any plans for other forms (e.g., log/exponential)?

-- Other than the circumstances mentioned in the manual (e.g., using the SD card while the sequencer is running), do we ever need to worry about overtaxing the CPU? I'm thinking about a situation with four expanders installed, and all tracks/expanders/automators running. Does the CPU have enough overhead for this?

Thanks, any information would be appreciated.

- The Ribbon cables are long enough to have the expander on a row next to the nerdseq on top or bottom of the NerdSEQ, but not longer.
Just contact me for special cable needs...but however keep in mind that i can't guarantee that all works well with long cables inside a rack with other potentionally radiating modules. So too long might not be a good choice.

- Yes, they are linear and they stay linear. Keep in mind that it is possible to run 16 envelopes/lfo at the same time and also when i started to design the expander and produced the batch already, i didn't even think of the envelopes or LFO's as a function in there.

- The good news is that the NSA expanders all have their own CPU, so in the end there is no CPU overhead for the NerdSEQ itself. The only thing i can think of would be a bus overflow on the expander port, for example if all automators are manipulating the expander outputs and heavy sequencing is happening.
Originally i didn't want the automators to be able to also manipulate the expander features. But it is in there now and i think mainly is is not too realistic that this would happen. So no overhead on the NerdSEQ itself expected (and even the sd card overhead can be fixed...if you do sample preview, works also flawless while a running sequencer, also long samples).

Ah yes, another thing about the ribbon cables. You connect only to one expander from the NerdSEQ. And then from the Expander to the next Expander and so on. These are daisy chained.

Great, thanks for all the helpful info.  I think I'm sold, although I'm currently agonizing over which color scheme I should get.

I slotted my More Triggers in 3 rows up from my Nerdseq and it seems to work fine.

RE: More CV Expander? - Acheface - 02-29-2020

Could you use this expander to make 8 pairs of CV & Envelope, to play 8 voices?
Could you use a simple envelope from the expander as a trigger/gate for an external envelope?
