I installed 1.28B. I have four notes playing a sine wave (or a sample) on track 8 with no effects no automation nothing routed in the mapping page. If scale is set to anything but chromatic the notes dance around random pitches. When set back to chromatic the notes play normally.

Depending on the notes you have entered, they may or may not be in the scale you select, so they will get quantized to the nearest note that is in the scale. Also, the scale quantization direction is 'COIN' by default, I think. So that would mean that it will quantize to the nearest note up or down based on a coin flip (a.k.a. randomly) each time. If you change it to 'UP' or 'DOWN', you should get a steady set of notes when you change scales.

Good point, and I would maybe suggest that the default could/should be either up or down, but not coin flip (IMHO).

There was a bug with the scales (and the same for the table quantization) which would select a wrong note at some times. This has been fixed for the release.
