Depending on the notes you have entered, they may or may not be in the scale you select, so they will get quantized to the nearest note that is in the scale. Also, the scale quantization direction is 'COIN' by default, I think. So that would mean that it will quantize to the nearest note up or down based on a coin flip (a.k.a. randomly) each time. If you change it to 'UP' or 'DOWN', you should get a steady set of notes when you change scales.

Good point, and I would maybe suggest that the default could/should be either up or down, but not coin flip (IMHO).

There was a bug with the scales (and the same for the table quantization) which would select a wrong note at some times. This has been fixed for the release.

ahhh ok. well it certainly seems random but the coin flip explains it I think. hadn't realized.  I will look into how to change that in the upcoming documentation, which btw is great news. nice to hear expanders are going into boxes!  really excited for this one. been using this fw since you pre released it.

This perplexed me a bit as well at first, but if you hold shift and press up/down when Keynote and Direction are highlighted on the Scale page, it will change between COIN, UP, and DOWN

Yes, but that was long ago and editing snow straight forward and the screen has been cleaned up.
