Revision C:
- added scale screen update if changed by mappings
- added mappings: Pulse,Start/Jump,Stop sequencer,note2pitch
- updated some screen updates if changed from the mappings
- added Execute multiple Mapping command as mapping command (nice to create mapping 'macros')
- updated slow LFO so the speed is more real again.
- added SHIFT+START in marked mode with playing player to start selected patterns
- fixed bug with sega gamepad which saved the wrong settings (needs new gamepad setup)
- fixed wrong Midi note off if scaled and played from external keyboard
- fixed scale function if used from mapping etc and not from a track
- added new shortcut for groove to increment/decrement all rows at the same time (SHIFT+OK+CURSOR UP/DOWN in the first row)
- added fix so a CV16 will also be initialized even if no track is assigned (so it can be used directly from the mappings)
- fixed player functions if a track is externally 'clocked' by mappings
- fixed global transpose from mapping
- fixed table CV Input so it can be used from multiple tables
Just to clarify: With the new update I can have my CV16 expander attached, and I can use all the outputs on it without giving up a track to use it? E.g. I could go to one of the LFOs or envelopes, assign it to an output on the CV16, and trigger it from another track?

That is not what the new update does. The new update initializes the settings also without a track assigned. The rest stays the same.
You could already assign an automator / LFO / Envelope already to a CV16 output but I don't suggest that as these generate quite some data traffic. You should preferably use the CV16 own LFO and envelopes.
What this update changes is only that you can use the CV16 via the mappings for example without the need to assign a track for it. And that indeed from any kind of track if you use it smartly.

Thanks for revision C! Solves all issues I was having so far. It’s a joy to use the 2.0 Nerdseq. It’s like every time I sit down for a session with it, I discover some new way to do things. And it was already like that before 2.0 Just even more so now

Got it, thanks! I think I asked the question incorrectly, what you've described is what I want to do (use the CV16's own CV resources like LFOs or Envelopes or just set voltages without using a track for it).
I may end up using a track for it anyways though. I'm thinking I could use it like a version of the noise engineering mimetic digitalis (I have one and like it) but on steroids.. 64 steps x 4 channels of random CV by generating random notes across a constrained range, but also the ability to drop in random notes on set steps, potentially skip triggers on steps etc, and if I hit on something perfect I can just copy the pattern for later and keep going. Or tie some of the random values to input CV to keep it evolving. Hours of fun..

Well this is what it does. You can fully control and use the CV16 LFO and envelopes without ever assigning a track.

I think I'm starting to get it now. I have one more silly question, but I'll post it in the appropriate thread. Thanks for your help as always!

Hi, may have found a bug, midi aftertouch seems to gate notes on cv/modular tracks, with this setup:
MIDI > TC1 > NOTE --- CV > NOTE > CV1
MIDI > TC1 > GATE --- TRIG > GATE > TR1
Midi notes play through to the cv tracks until any channel pressure / aftertouch is applied.

This map should not react on aftertouch at all. If at least one note is pressed it will keep the Gate until all notes are released.
The CV will change with every note on on this channel. Aftertouch messages can appear only if at least one note is still being pressed. But still, here the channel pressure / aftertouch messages should not affect anything with only these 2 lines of mapping.
The question is though, why are you using the mapping for this taskanyways ? The way to go would be throught the regular midi setup
TRS/DIN Channel 1 -> Track 1 Input which also keeps properly track of which notes have been pressed etc.

It does seem to respond that way to aftertouch but I agree, it does seem odd.
Apologies, had thought that mapping had replaced all standard mapping!

No mapping does not replace it but adds some other features on the ‘raw’ midi data.
How do you know it does anything with the aftertouch data? How can I reproduce it?
