STSP ignoring BRK
#1
I'm trying to use the new STSP command to start a row. I created a 16 step pattern - STSP 002 on step 1. BRK 000 on step 16. When I start the sequence, the pattern with STSP will play the entire 64 steps before moving to row 002 - ignoring the BRK command.

Am I doing something wrong?  Huh

Hmm, it should do the same as if you would press the start knob on that position.

I got to test it but no access to my system right now. I will check it asap.

It seems to be following the cursor playhead (at the top and bottom of the tracker). Will wait until it plays all 64 steps.

I just checked the function and i think all works fine with it.

Just to be sure. It works 1:1 like the if you would use the start button (or twice). It plays the next selected pattern of a selected track in regular or quantized mode.
If for example a track was not playing, then it would start of course on a zero cross or on the quantized point if quantized started.

So the selected pattern will play when the earlier pattern of the same track is ready. The status of the track where the STSP was used doesn't matter. It doesn't have any influence of the destination patterns.

Sorry for not understanding... What is a zero cross? Is that the main play cursor at the top and bottom? It sounds like I might need to change the quantized point and place the STSP command before the quantized point that I want the change to happen. Is this correct? So it's not the Shift/Start command?

My Live Quantize is set for 16 steps. On track 6, the STSP 002 is on the first step - BRK 000 on step 16. When I press start, track 6 will play 16 steps - then jump to row 2 on track 6. The other tracks wait until the main clock bar plays all the way through, then plays the rest of the tracks on row 02.

So it's not starting the whole row, which is what I want. Am I doing something wrong?

** Edit **
Found the fix. There has to be a track above of the same length as the STSP track. Would a Shift/Start command be possible? I would like to have islands of tracks of different lengths and have a lead track control the jumps to the islands.

It's a step closer. Thank you!

This is the START or SHIFT+START Command including the Quantized option on demand.
The STSP command does not affect and doesn't have anything to do with the track it is being called from. You can use it on tracks 1..8 without any different.
Important is only at which step you set it and the destination track+row.

STSP 302 -> START Track 3, row 02
STSP 002 -> SHIFT+START for row 02

STSP 402 twice (best next to each other, but can be on different steps) -> Quantized start Track 4, Row 2

It is really the start and shift+start function. The same rules apply. If you use them twice it's toggeling between quantized and non-quantized (which is then if either the pattern on the track is ready or if no pattern was playing then on the zero cross (which is the mainclock indeed. Zero cross is when the main clock goes from step 64 back to one/zero)
