The way I've been using groove column is to double the ticks per step of all the steps in the patterns that I want to play at a /2 speed then press play. I don't make changes while the pattern plays. I just thought that putting one clock command on the first step of the pattern would be easier than changing all the groove steps of the pattern. No worries using groove works good.
But when that track is not playing, the scale changing will take effect directly, pressing start then will start the pattern directly in the chosen scale.
Goove works this way, but SCLK in the effects column doesn't. It takes effect after the pattern loops around once or on the start of the next pattern if there is a pattern chained after it.
Just to be sure: You can change a non playing track scale which will take effect immediately (using the Nerd button)
Yes, but I like to use the groove column because I have multiple songs in each project and prefer to have the setting per song, with groove, and not have to change the track scale between songs. Would you consider having SCLK command scale immediately like the Nerd button track setting if pressing Play from a stopped sequencer, and if the sequencer is running have SCLK function the way it does now? Just a thought, not important...we have groove
I don't know if that is too easy to do. Mainly because when passing the FX with the SCLK command, several time iterations happened already and getting it full in sync then is in my opinion very tricky to do, though i don't know if it's worth the effort. You might just have a/some filler patterns before you jump to the next block in your project. Or use groove ;-)

That makes sense. I thought about a row of empty 1 step 1 tick patterns with the SCLK settings for the first patterns of each song then subtract the same on the last step of the of the last patterns so that it loops perfectly, but I have not actually tried it yet. I'll experiment tonight. If it is not easy then its definitely not worth the effort. Better to focus on bigger things like the expansion module for the er301. That sounds amazing!

Just took delivery of a launchpad pro and the midi expander - I know what I'll be doing tonight!
Really hyped to try this, and have a go at sequencing my Jupiter 6 with the expander too.
I was off work for a few days last week so had a proper good go with the Nerdseq and came up with a few nice patterns!.
It's so important to spend time with your gear and get to know it well.
Not sure this is the best place to post this but got a bit excited to share something.
I'll be sure to post up my experiences and a demo, as there isn't a lot out there on this combination at the moment.
All the best everyone

Moving the remainder of this post into the "your setup" forum as that seems more appropriate.

this looks AMAZING!!! Only one question, is it possible to mark and copy cc values in rows for cc? That was the only problem I had with the MIDI sequencing in last Firmware, i.e. I would program the cc values but could only mark and copy one at a time (* I think, im away from my studio etc) but not entire columns (accross) and not rows (downward). This is really important to me bc that's how I like to send synth "mangling" per step in my tracks, thanks for any answer in advance and thanks for making some of my wildest music making/composition dreams come true!

Oh yes you could do that with the prior firmware. But the marking looks wrong. If you mark 'blind' and then copy then it will copy correctly.
This is fixed in the coming release.
