The Launchpad Thread

I am curious as to what is planned. I have not yet purchased the expander but will get one soon. I have been using the launchpad for triggers on the six native tracks, and I really like that the pattern moves horizontally and that I can see all 64 steps - it makes for very quick entering of drum patterns. I have not yet used the expander, so it is hard to say, but I feel like it would be good if the Trigger16 layout worked similarly.

Yep, that will most probably be one of the usages and as the current one is, which works like the drum matrix. The plus with the current implementation is that you can mute the drum matrix tracks 1..8 directly just like the normal tracks.

I see, but i will most probably not implement Lanuchpad PRO only functions. The others can't do that.

So I'm yet to get a trigger expander (very soon) but already ordered a LP pro.

What would be great to me is the ability to 'zoom in' to enter substeps or tripplets if the resolution is not fine enough. Does that make sense?

Apologies if it's the case already, haven't had the chance to try the LP with the Nerdseq yet

I have the mio4 and would like to get the small launchpad for faster nerdseq programming.

Hi skylab001,
I have the same thoughts - did you test it? I am about to pull the trigger on a Launchpad...

I actually don't know about the MK3 yet. I got the Mk3 mini now here and it didn't work out of the box.

Things like aftertouch and velocity for MOD CV would be awesome regardless of the Launchpad integration. It would open up so much for virtually any MIDI controller. +1 from me 100%

I have a a few ideas for the trigger16 launchpad integration.

1. Concerning the current mode - where all eight tracks are visible - it would be cool if there was an option to choose whether the steps moved vertically or horizontally. I love the vertical workflow of a tracker, but when programming drums with a grid like the launchpad, it feels more intuitive to see them displayed horizontally (like they are for the main track triggers).

2. It would be good to have a menu option to choose between different behaviors/modes. This way it could be used in a couple different ways. For example the first mode could be the current mode, and the second mode would show all 64 steps and you could switch trigger pages.

3. This is the fun one. Instead of having to choose between all eight tracks or all 64 steps, there could be an option to choose how many trigger tracks are displayed on each page. You could choose between either all 8 tracks with 8 steps displayed per page, 4 tracks with 16 steps, 2 tracks with 32 steps, or one track per page showing all 64 steps. When showing multiple trigger tracks on one page they could be color coded.

Let me know what you think Smile

Having a small issue using the Launchpad Pro with the trigger 16 expander. When I enter a trigger 16 track it shows all the current steps with LED's on the launchpad, but when I press the buttons to go up or down on the launchpad the LED's on the don't update until I press a random button on the Launchpad. Another issue I found is if I enter a trigger 16 pattern using the launchpad there is no way to exit it via the launchpad (as far as I'm aware!).

Was wondering if anyone else is experiencing or knows a way I can fix this? In normal modular patterns the Launchpad displays and updates correctly, its just when using with a trigger 16 pattern i have issues

Hey, I just picked up a Launchpad Pro Mk3 (gave up on the mini mk3 for now).

I've followed the instructions in the manual, mainly " Set Midi Channel 1 to the LP Pro. Also don’t forget to enable Midi Data input, " but nothing is changing in the launch pad. i've tried rebooting the launchpad, etc.

Is there something else that needs to be done for the Launchpad Pro Mk3 to work?

Thanks

I think you got to set the LP to one of its modes. It is confirmed to work!
