I got it working. I was not aware that.I needed to be in programmer mode, thanks much!

Using the NerdSEQ but not knowing about programmer mode? Tongue

I'm an Ableton users, I but I use a Push with it. I bought the launchpad specifically for the Nerdseq so I'm not really familiar with all of its modes yet.

I am curious though, do you have a list of CCs for controlling the NerdSeq posted? I'd love to try to make an interface for the Push.

Cheers,

I was just kidding because making music with the NerdSEQ is also kind of programming, some people say Smile

All the Launchpad CC are online in their programmers guides.
The push is unfournately not supported because it always needs a computer and wouldn't run standalone as a midi compliant device.

When I enter a trigger 16 track it shows all the current steps with LED's on the launchpad, but when I press the buttons to go up or down on the launchpad the LED's on the don't update until I press a random button on the Launchpad. Another issue I found is if I enter a trigger 16 pattern using the launchpad there is no way to exit it via the launchpad (as far as I'm aware!).

Was wondering if anyone else is experiencing or knows a way I can fix this? In normal modular patterns the Launchpad displays and updates correctly, its just when using with a trigger 16 pattern i have issues

I am also experiencing this.  I have learned to work around it by first selecting the group from the right A-H buttons, then pressing one of the mute buttons on a track that is unused.  I can then unmute the track and I will be in the proper group.  I would love for this to get fixed as it is super tough to use the way it is.  Would be nice if it just scrolled up and down like the sequencer.  :Smile

The Trigger16 implementation for the Launchpad is not finished and there is still the discussion how it should be implemented anyway as some people prefer to see all 64 steps just like with the normal track triggers while others prefer this view. There is a discussion somewhere here.

I have made a few posts about some ideas ive had, on page one or two of this thread.. check it out. Join the discussion. I think there are some neat and simple ways the launchpad could be integrated with the trigger expander...

1. Concerning the current mode - where all eight tracks are visible - it would be cool if there was an option to choose whether the steps moved vertically or horizontally. I love the vertical workflow of a tracker, but when programming drums with a grid like the launchpad, it feels more intuitive to see them displayed horizontally (like they are for the main track triggers).

2. It would be good to have a menu option to choose between different behaviors/modes. This way it could be used in a couple different ways. For example the first mode could be the current mode, and the second mode would show all 64 steps and you could switch trigger pages.

3. This is the fun one. Instead of having to choose between all eight tracks or all 64 steps, there could be an option to choose how many trigger tracks are displayed on each page. You could choose between either all 8 tracks with 8 steps displayed per page, 4 tracks with 16 steps, 2 tracks with 32 steps, or one track per page showing all 64 steps. When showing multiple trigger tracks on one page they could be color coded.

Oh excellent!  My suggestions for the trigger16 Launchpad are pretty simple.  Let me know what you think.

Navigation: Have buttons A-D move the grid around kindof like how Ableton allows it.

Trigger Programming: Keep it same as what is there now.  You can just click and unclick them.

Playing Position: It would be nice to see this move as a stripe 8 buttons wide and move from top to bottom.  For rows that are not visible, the stripe could be a dim white and brighter for when the system is actually playing the the triggers displayed.  Obviously using the navigation up and down to view the next/prev sections.

Nice to have: The ability to use button H as a break for the sequence, so you can change the length without going back to the NerdSeq buttons and adding it as an Effect.

To me, it can be that simple.
Thank you,

I think having some choices would be beneficial. You could choose between vertical and horizontal flow. It would also be great to choose how many tracks are displayed on the grid. There are benefits both ways, so it would be good if the user could define the parameters per project. Sometimes its nice to see more steps at once, and sometimes its better to be able to see more tracks at once.

As an an example, lets say you just wanted to focus on four trigger tracks. One each for kick, snare, open hi-hat, and closed hi-hat. You could choose to have just 4 tracks displayed on the launchpad, which would allow you to view 16 steps at a time for each track on each page. If you could choose to have the tracks arranged horizontally on the launchpad you would easily be able to see each track step through its sequence. If they were color coded it would be even easier.

There could be 3 modes. One with 1 track showing all 64 steps. Another as it is now, showing 8 tracks with 8 steps. And then a third mode with 4 tracks showing 16 steps as described above. Then there could be a vertical alignment and a horizontal alignment for each mode, which would make a total of six operating styles for the user to choose from.

The only downside I see is that the use of the other buttons available on the launchpad would have to be assigned a little bit differently in each mode, but I definitely feel that it would be doable Rolleyes

For me at least, this would make the workflow much more intuitive.
