Hi guys, if i understand the manual, we can't control all 16 cv output with one track but only 6.
i understood too that i need to sacrifice one track to get access to the cv expander. Right ?
My idea was to add 4 drum voices to my nNrdseq via the cv 16 (4*4 = 16).
Each of the 4 new tracks would be parameter like this Pitch/trig/mod1/Mod2 + 1 fx (so 6 columns)... so visually 4 pages seems for me ideal. Am i a fool to want that ?
i read the thread and people has different needs about CV16 and it's normal.
I think the goal could be to propose several "template" (8VC+Trig, 4*4, etc...) to assign so everybody finds his needs...
I precise i still not use it but i will get the expander in a few days for Christmas but i'm thinking how to integrate it.
PS : can't we sacrifice one sampler track instead ?

Hey not completely correct.
You can control 6 CV outputs from the columns directly and another 3 through the FX columns per step. Of course you can use other CV outputs with the CV on other steps. Also you can assign chords which can play on up to 6 CV outputs and it uses only one of the CV columns. So it can do a bit more than this. And if you got any modulations like a LFO running, then you only need to enable them once for a CV output and keep it running then. So with some smart composing you can get much more than the initial 6 columns.
There is no Track sacrifice. You still can also use nearly all track related things for the local outputs. It adds many more functions to a track.
A dynamic approach for the 'templates' is not possible since the column memory is very limited and already totally packed.
Also the sample tracks can't be used and it would need some major refactoring to make these also assignable. They work much different than usual tracks as they contain actually 2 tracks in one each. But if you want to do some CV stuff from the sample tracks, you can always control any of the local CV/Mod/Trigger from the sample tracks. But don't forget the sample tracks are much more than samples, these are oscillators, FM synthesizer.....

Thank you for your fast response.
I will certainly find how to configure to sweet my needs once i got it.

Hi there,
so I would like to know if the following is possible:
I see that we can assign an expander to multiple tracks.
Let's say that I assign the CV expander outs to tracks 1 and 2. When I do that, I get the 1 2 3 4 5 6 outs of the CV expander available on track 1 and 2.
Is there way to change that ? I would like to assign the CV expander outs 1 to 8 to track 1 and CV expander outs 9 to 16 to track 2 of the Nerdseq.
Is this not possible ?
If it is possible, can someone explain briefly how I should set this up ? I tried, but I did not find how to set this up.
Be well everyone!

You have looked into the manual, have you?
Page 79ff describes the track setup and your question is answered on page 83.
Kind regards,
Michael

Go to the track setup screen, there you can configure which outputs should be used for the 6 columns. (and more configurations)

Awesome! Thanks to you both!
Good to know that it's doable. I actually did read the manual and tried to make it work, but it looks like I misunderstood some things than.
I'll try again tonight

Just today received my more CV expander - I’m stoked! I’m starting by using it to add modulation outputs into various elements of my Akemie’s Taiko module. I have it set up on Track 5 and have a couple of questions:
One, I don’t understand the difference between “Track CV 5” and “Loc CV 5” (and similar Track X versus Local X Mod). These seem the same to me, but there must be some difference I don’t understand.
Two, if I want to send note information as well as a trigger on the same step, what I’ve done is assign columns/destination 1 and 2 each to Track CV. One has the note info and the other, I use TT2 (just triggers). Just want to start off with good practice, and to see if this is the best way to go about it?
Thanks!
One more question/issue! I’m trying to send modulation from the CV16 to a parameter on my Akemie’s Taiko called Release 2. When I send an offset from my MATHS, 10 v, it increases the release as expected. When I send a Mod Value (either a high note like C-9 or the highest value FFD) from Ext CV 4 to the same Release 2, nothing changes (I have the switch to the right, which should be 0-10 v). Not sure what I’m doing wrong here? Edit: Tested with an LFO and it seems to be modulating fine.

Loc CV 5 is CV Output 5 of the NerdSEQ main module
Track CV (I don't see a 5 on mine) is the CV Output of the NerdSEQ main module of the track you are on. So on track 5 it is equal to Loc CV 5 and on track 4 it is equal to Loc CV 4. Analog with Mod.
It is documented on page 83 of the V1.23 manual.

That is a question I too asked earlier this year and got no answer. I'm currently using ^11 and ^16 for gates. If I were to use triggers I'd probably go for the TT* as well.
I have no answer to your last question since I have yet to start playing with that part
Kind regards,
Michael

Thanks Michael,
Yes, I did see that in the manual, but as it seems to me that the two effectively mirror each other - i.e. at least in my limited use, it seemed I could choose either Loc 1-6 or Track 1-6 irregardless of the track I’m on - I just wanted to see if there was any other difference that I wasn’t getting. I think if I could only choose the Local track with Loc CV and the others with Trk CV, it would be straightforward to me.
In terms of the last part, I hope I can figure that out, as I mostly want to be able to plug in some modules and use the More CV 16 as a programmable CV source for modulation. I feel like I must be doing something dumb, entering values (notes or hexadecimal) on the Ext CV doesn’t seem to output any change (but the LFO works). Previously, has been working fine with the Main CV outs, though I too have only made limited use of this. Will keep on fiddling around!
I mostly enjoy tweaking knobs and throwing the Voltage Block into the mix, but then, as my modules have increased, I only have so many hands and so though I would try to program it a bit. I also get different sounds and textures when sequencing the modulation.
Best,
Khenu
