Firmware V1.28 Test Version
#1
As promised I will provide you a test version of the upcoming firmware V1.28. This is not a beta release, not a release candidate or anything like that. Just a version to play around with and get a peek into the upcoming version. Surely not stable everywhere and no guarantees!
Also project files might not be compatible with the final V1.28 (V2.0) release, also saved projects are surely not downwards compatible to V1.27 or earlier..keep that in mind, too.

Backup your SD-Card content before you put the new firmware on the SD Cart and use the firmware update instructions provided in the manual and the firmware update FAQ here.

Feel free to discuss things here, but be patient as not everything is completely ready.

Some handy things to know:
- the mapping screen shows the source on the left 3 columns and the possible destination on the right 3 columns. Destinations can stay empty if you don't need them. Use it for mappings (like midi CC, CV inputs, anything routing to any possible function) and for much more. Basic Copy/Paste, Delete with shift UP, Insert row functions are included.
- the mapping will be always executed from row 00 to 45 (70 rows) in a 1kHz rate. You can stop the execution temporary by pressing the OK button. This is to avoid anything changed by the mapping while browsing through the functions. OK again starts the execution again (or leaving the mapping screen)
- they are also 16 variables that can be used with the mappings for calculations and many other things. Also the 70 rows are also kind of 70 variables as they save the current result of the row. Both can be used for all the functions. The variables can also manually be changed in the variable screen (patch button in the mapping screen. patch again will bring you back to the mappings)
As for the mappings the 16 variables can be chosen with the values VA -> VP and the mapping rows then 00 -> 45 (which are the 70 rows). These you use for calculations etc...General information is visible in the Status field.
- you can skip rows (skip X rows if Variable A > Variable B for example) to be not executed but you can execute individual rows from the FX column in the pattern (XMAP FX Command)
- you can write some kind of code with it or manipulate the input values in many ways and route them to anything else.
- there will be mappings import/export in the final version (before you ask)
- some mapping functions don't use the 3rd parameter, it will be greyed out then. If it is not greyed out then it is needed.
- scaling is currently only the global scaling but will be also track scaling + extra modes at the release time (also selectable from the FX). In the Screen it shows the current editing scale on top, in the 3rd row it shows the active scale. You can use OK on the edit scale to activate it. Pitch is not supported yet.
If you change any scale it changes to a user scale. SHIFT+DELETE on the edit scale will revert it to the original.
- the Midi Input settings got a complete make-over and got much more fexibility with many new functions. Use SHIFT UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGH to change Sources and Destinations
- if you want to get a first view into the I2C screens then you could change the Midi Interface into the Multi-IO one ( Setup screen). This will make Midi unusable since you don't have the Multi-IO Interface, but you can choose I2C in the track assign and check it's pattern screen and track setup screen. If you change it back to TRS/DIN Midi (always get back to the sequencer screen so the settings are going to be changed) you might to need to restart the NerdSEQ
- The Sega Gamepad functionality is by default now disabled. You need to enable it once if you want to use it. This is a one-time thing. If no Sega Gamepad is connected then leave it disabled

There is much more in this update (and I surely forgot to mention may of them) and some things are as mentioned not finished yet and some things I want to have for the release not included at all. But I am sure this will keep you busy for a while.

I will have my vacation now and leave you completely in the dark, so make the best out of it (though I will take an emergency rack with me and will sometimes take a look here before things get out of hands, heheheh )  Big Grin

Please share on any socials and forums if you made anything cool with it. Please do not post bugreports in the bugreports section but here.

I will also make a new thread which can be used for any I2C questions. I will try to get the betatesters of the Multi-IO there so they can provide some first-hand non developer informations.

So update, (and firmware updates always work, follow the manual and Firmware update FAQ here).

Yowsah!

Have CV16 on port 1 and More Video-IO (on 4)
Have "Autoload Project" ON

1.28 on startup
-------------------------------------------
ERROR 1c 9d0eacd4
ATTEMPTING BACKUP AS ERROR162.NRD
(dialog ending with Save Project Succeed)
PRESS OK TO RESTART
-------------------------------------------
Stuck in a restart loop.

Turned OFF Autoload Project and it boots ok.
Nothing "special" with the project it is trying to load. (famous last words)

Add the project file (or send it to me), probably a incompability with importing earlier projects

Neat! i've never been so excited for a firmware update. Thank you Thomas!

I think I found a bug but i'm not sure, It look like I cannot map values on my cv16 expander (on NSA port 2) I don't have tested yet with the "more triggers 16" expander (on NSA port 1)

So for any bug reports, can you please specify what you are doing?
