NERDseq, Digitakt and PC messages! Any solutions?
#1
Hi Guys,

I know this has been an issue with the DT.  It’s been a awhile since I tried to sequence PC messages from Ableton to the DT, but I had found some sort of script (can’t remember the details just now!) that someone created that helped with this. Now, I want to sequence my DT drum programming with PC change messages from the NERDseq, but the changes don’t happen instantaneously as they do with most other gear.  Have any of you DT users found an approach that works with NERDseq, other than placing the changes four bars or whatever ahead?

Thanks!

For clarification, are you wanting to sequence Pattern changes in the DT with the Nerdseq?

Yes, as a start, exactly!

I think I remember that was an issue of all elektron gear that it always needs some steps ahead for a pattern change. But I am not sure and I don't want to seed any rumours. Up to you to research for it. Definitely not a NerdSEQ thing I can guarantee. PC is being sent out as soon as it passes the step.

Thanks Thomas.  Yes, I didn’t have any thought that it was an issue on the NERDseq end.  I just want to see if there are any unique or creative solutions in the NERDseq ecosystem (which is why I posted here!).

For Ableton, a different ecosystem, someone had come up with a script/plug-in that helped with this reasonably well.  I haven’t used it in awhile, but it scanned the arrangement ahead of time and then took care of things, such that one didn’t have to do all the pattern changes ahead of time, which could get confusing.  J

ust want to see if there are any workarounds that any users here have found?  I like playing the DT live as well, but sometimes I want to sequence the pattern changes and have my hands free for other tasks.
