So the scroll view is super useful to record in steps as you input, but since it only shows the "middle" row of a given page of patterns, it means that it can't record into the top-most and bottom-most steps. It would be nice if it could display "dummy rows" before and after (just gray lines would work) just to show the scroll of the full pattern.

fair, though even when using the normal record function, the screen scrolling helps keep track of place where you are in a pattern

I'm also really happy to have discovered the possibility of switching the scroll view on.
However, I wondered if there's any possibility of being able to disable/pause 'scroll' temporarily using a keystroke. If you want to edit something you have to either stop the track, or go to the parameters screen and disable scroll before editing/adding notes and FX, etc.
Is there a possibility to pause that function whilst you edit, and then restart it from the same keystroke, or would that be too tricky to implement?
I hope my explanation makes sense.
By the way, I posted this here rather than starting a new thread, as this one is titled 'scrolling pre/roll'. I hope that's alright to have put it here.

No possibility for this so far. And I don’t think if it makes any sense with everything faster than 100 bpm.
Editing without scrolling is still the best solution.
PLEASE use the search function if something have been asked or discussed before.
Every (unnessesary) forum support means less time to develop! But of course, i am here to help!

Okay, no problem.
I sort of envisaged the possibility to 'disengage' the scrolling to be able to edit, and then turn it back on without having to change screens (which was my idea). But if it's too fiddly to do, I'm sure I'll get used to this.
Thanks again.
