Do you pair your Nerdseq with another sequencer?

I bought it secondhand. I'm kind if understanding why somebody might have sold it, now. I do really like it, though. It will be interesting to see whether it is still in my rack for the next 6 years.

I’ve taken the approach of allowing myself to slowly explore Metropolix, knowing that I’m not going to get everything out of it for a long, long time. Definitely helps keep concerns at bay. Smile I suspect I’d regret trying to push too far too fast and selling it too early.

I also have a TXi, which is in another case right now, but I think I am probably going to put into the case in between the crow and the nerdseq to provide 4 knobs for the nerdseq.

I'd be interested to hear more about your way of working. I have the Nerdseq next to a Teletype and a Melisma. For me the Melisma is much more appropriate for chord progressions and it can be fully controlled via a single MIDI track on the Nerdseq as all of its functions can run under MIDI control.

At the same time I want to keep the Teletype in there as it's a very different way for working. How do you use the crow with the NS?

Well right now it's a bit limited since Crow only has 2 inputs, but here are some example scripts:

1) Run clock and reset (nerdseq out) into crow.  Let crow do drumming sequencing duties (since I don't have the nerdseq trigger expander), and control other randomization elements into ER301 as well as back into nerdseq (with the 4 outputs).  I have toyed with expanding this into meta-sequencing of the nerdseq via the 4 outputs of crow -> 4 cv inputs of nerdseq, but nothing concrete yet.

2) In a specific case, I wrote a script that takes in a nerdseq CV channel and a trigger so Crow can output the CV with a slide function enabled when the trigger is active (with crow output[].shape & output[].slew).

Right now I'm running into not enough inputs from nerdseq to crow.  I have a TXi in another case which I want to move over to solve the issue, but I don't have enough space yet.  The i2c expander mentioned in other threads may be more useful though.

Yeah, I haven't explored it yet, but I was thinking of using Teletype via the 4 CV inputs to control NerdSeq as a Meta sequencer as well. My main issue is that I'm unsure there's enough good options to control the Nerdseq that way. I know for instance that there are XY controls on the Sequencer page, but I would like something more concrete like "trigger to move to next island" or something of that sort.

I'm on a similar path though.
