[NO BUG] Pattern export / import work for you?
#1
Is anyone else able to export / import a pattern? I'm following the instructions in pages 107/108 on the v1.6 user manual.

The export appears successful, as a file is created on the SD card. The data differs for different patterns, both in modular and trigger16. When I make a new blank pattern and import that file, however, nothing shows up in the new pattern.

Thanks!

In that same manual it says:
"An imported Pattern will be imported into a new empty pattern. The new Pattern number will be shown after importing and can be used in
tracks with the same pattern type."

After importing it shows: "Imported to pattern XX" and this pattern can be used then. It doesn't import into the current pattern as this one is not an empty unused pattern.  Big Grin
PLEASE use the search function if something have been asked or discussed before.
Every (unnessesary) forum support means less time to develop! But of course, i am here to help!  Smile

Thanks! This makes perfect sense now, works perfectly. The message flashed by quickly enough that I didn't process it... I thought I was supposed to make a new empty pattern and import it there. It's a little counterintuitive to import a pattern into an existing pattern, so I guess this is why I resisted the workflow?

Wondering if that kind of modal window might borrow from PC techniques that it would say "press any key to continue" rather than flashing by? Hahaha I probably would have ignored that too.  Confused

I offer this text in case it would help:
"As one must be in a pattern to access Import Pattern, note that this action will not overwrite the existing pattern. Rather, the import will automatically be injected into the first empty pattern instead. On successful import, a message briefly communicates the new pattern number into which the import was made."

In any case it works like a charm and thanks again!
