Midi from Octatrack
#1
Hello all, I'm back using the nerds after a longtime away. I have the TRS expander and I have the Octatrack sending midi in. The clock and transport works but I can't seem to get notes to play. I have track 7 and 8 assigned to midi and I am patching from the sample 7 out put to 1v per octave. I can't see what I am doing wrong. I have the midi channel set to 1 on both devices. I have tried sequencing notes on both as well but no luck.
sorry if this is a bit dumb. but I would appreciate some help

Tracks 7 and 8 are audio outputs.
For cv/gate you can only use track 1-6

The sample 7 and 8 outputs are audio outputs. The don’t send control voltage. Also, the MIDI tracks on the NerdSeq are for sending MIDI data (i.e. notes, CC values, MIDI clock, etc.) out from the NerdSeq via the MIDI adapter outputs. They don’t just automatically pass through the MIDI data that’s received at the MIDI input just because they are MIDI tracks.

Yes exactly what sllopes says. See the track assign for output assignment for the tracks. For input (as input from the octatrack) you go to the midi configuration where you can assign an incoming midi channel to a track. (By the way, in the upcoming version this is going to be much more flexible with many additional functions for the assignment).
