Mapping Discussion

Hi,

I’m struggling trying to use the Nerdseq as an arpeggiator for external gate inputs.

What I do is set in Mapping screen:

CV IN 1→ TRIG TRIG TR 1

And then make a pattern of just one step in Track 1 with a Table00 set on CV In 1 as source on it and a gate off and a note off in the respective columns.

It works fine but when I reboot my system the table doesn’t start until I put a note in the note column, and then put a note off again.

What is the correct method to have a track doing arpeggios of an external gate input?

I can’t really follow what you do and want to achieve. How is the mapping related to this? You use the CV as table source to progress the table steps? 
If you use table transpose you need at least one basenote where it transposes from and that is derived from the played pattern note.





Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not sure is necessary to do that mapping, if there is a simpler way is better.

What I want to achieve is to feed a CV input with trigs and use it to advance the table steps to have quantized voltages in the range of the table at the CV out and the corresponding trig at the Gate output. I would be able to use the Nerdseq the way I use the Bard's Quartet in arpeggio mode to be more clear.

I can do that with the method I mentioned but seems it needs a base note for the table to start working, however that note is added to the sequence so if I start it with a C-0 and then put a note off it works as intended, but then it needs again a base note to start the arpeggio on the next session.

Maybe there is a simpler method, if not would be great if the note off could start the table and do the job without have to start it manually.
