New user praise & midi question
#1
Hi, just got the Nerdseq from Thomas recently and I am very impressed by the possibilities and blown away. It’s really amazing.

Most things I can figure out and are unfolding itself to me, but there is one thing which I can not seem to find:

MIDI

I’m routing MIDI from my soundcard via Ableton to the Nerdseq to be able to play melodies with my Push controller. This is working pretty nicely already! But at the moment its midi recording seems locked to track 1. Is it possible to change the track which is receiving the midi notes already? Or will this be implemented in a future firmware update?

Midi IN is routed to the Midi Channels. So Channel 1 records to track 1, channel2 to track 2 etc.

I think you can record on multiple tracks when having multiple patterns 'recording'and use multiple channels.

It is not perfect yet though and it will get a total makeover at some point. But good enough for the basics for now.

Great, thanks! Yes that works.

Few things I noticed, which you might already know:

- short notes played on midi controller tend to be recorded as blank notes / gate off commands.
- sometimes the gate went high and wouldn't turn off when sequencing via de digitakt.

Quote:Yes, too fast notes doesn't work well. I'm aware of that.

Quote:Are you using the latest version V1.14A? If, then i expect that sometimes a note-off is missing from the digitakt.
Only sniffing the midi stream can reveal the cause.
