Using Nerdseq to control Microfreak via MIDI
#1
Hey there!
I'm considering getting a Microfreak to supplement my Eurorack system. My Nerdseq always controls almost everything in the system, and I'm wondering if it would be possible for the Nerdseq to control a Microfreak via MIDI using the TRS-A Midi Expander? Could I use the Nerdseq to sequence the Microfreak in this way? Perhaps even have it play chords through MIDI? Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks!

Sure easy. Not sure if the microfreak van do polyphonic, but the NerdSEQ can.
One thing to know is that the Microfreak is not using the Midi standard for their TRS port so you might need to use the adapter cables that came with it to use it with a DIN Cable or you need a TRS-A to TRS-B adapter to use only a stereo patchcable.
PLEASE use the search function if something have been asked or discussed before.
Every (unnessesary) forum support means less time to develop! But of course, i am here to help!  Smile

Thanks! I'll have to look into the TRS-A to B adapter, but sounds like its not a big deal. The Microfreak manual says:

Quote:The MicroFreak is a paraphonic four-voice synthesizer. You can trigger the voices
independently when this knob is lit.

Sounds like it just might work! Though for bigger chords I might just have to hold out for the upcoming dual chord expander Smile

4 voice paraphonic it is then (not polyphonic).
Yes NerdSEQ can do that easily.
