Help - multi IO + Akai MPK mini Play
#1
Hi guys,

Newbee here!

I just got the multi IO expander, and really looking forward to using it. I am though, having some start up issues. I am connecting my Akai MPK mini Play to the "host" input - but I am really struggling with the basic setup in terms of getting it setup so that I can record and play the notes from my modules.

Are there any threads that have covered the basic setup when connecting a midi keyboard to the Multi IO? I am trying to read the manual, but at this point I keep getting lost in terms of where to start and how to setup the different parameters.

My dream setup would be to be able to play and record on my Mutable Instruments Plaits in the rack from the Akai MPK Mini Play.

Any help would be great! Smile

Project -> Midi/I2C Setup

There you go to the Input Assign:
Either choose the Host channel from the Akai on the left side or use learn (OK button)
On the right side you choose TRK Select Rec or Track x record (where x is the trakc you got the plaits connected to)

To test press a note on the akai and look on the statusbar below if it arrives properly.

If you choosed TRS Select rec, then you got to be with the cursor on the track in the sequencer screen or pattern (the plaits track) and then you can start to play normally.

That should be a start....
PLEASE use the search function if something have been asked or discussed before.
Every (unnessesary) forum support means less time to develop! But of course, i am here to help!  Smile
