On all the channels I'm sending the cv info to from the nerdseq, (bitbox, ER301, Basimilus etc) If im triggering changing timbre's (drum slices) it plays a "hic" of the previous sample first.
Nerdseq's Gate arrive too early, I think

I'm not sure what you mean exactly. I guess you don't mean samples from the NerdSEQ? Whats the connection and how do you play/how does your step/pattern look like.

The cv, trigger and mod channels are going into the samplers, synths above. Right now I’m using the cv (v/oct) to control sample slices. Then setting up what to play though a daw on the computer, using the nerdseq as a midi to cv converter. (It’s easier to write that way).
What happens is a that I get a couple milliseconds of the previously triggered sample before it plays the asked for sample. It becomes really obvious going from kick to HH. It makes a “ploc “ sound. Thanks On the er301. I can just add a “micro delay” unit to the trigger input and solve it quickly. But all the other don’t have that nifty a solution

Hmm, kind of expensive Midi-CV converter ;-)
Anyways, i just checked and the trigger should trigger right after the new note value is set. Are you sure you don't have for example any glide settings turned on? I will check it with a scope but seing the code i expect the trigger really somes right after the CV (as in microseconds after it).

(side note: I'm excited for all of the expanders) I have a video I made from my phone of the bitbox's reaction but I cant attach it via phone. I tend never to use things like glide settings, so it wouldn't have been intentional. how might I check to see if I do?

You can check either in the current settings screen (using the patch button in the sequencer screen) or you can easily reset all FX with the Nerd Button, then all glide settings are reset for sure. (at least until set again through the sequencer). Those are features of the later versions, i think from V1.16 and higher.

Another question. Do you use the CC to control which sample is going to play or the midi note?

I’m using midi note to control the samples. One key =one sample this way
I’ll check the settings later today

Are you clocking externally by any chance? With internal clocking I use my nerdseq to trigger an external sampler (akai s950) using a Doepfer 192-2 (cv-midi)... the Doepfer module is very picky about the gate and cv arriving coincidentally and I've had no issues using the nerdseq with it! |
