Ok i understand that if you don't start at the first step to play.

So thinking further....what should be shifted? Only notes, notes and triggers, notes triggers mods, everything, everything but FX (to avoid breaking possible breaks).... or only marked columns?
PLEASE use the search function if something have been asked or discussed before.

since you are absolutely right about that break fx. i think shifting only marked columns would be the best option. just my opinion, but it seems that it is the most usable

If it would be with only the marked fields, then it should also only be with the marked fields. For example, you mark 8 steps and 3 columns, then it should only shift these 8 steps (with wrapping) and the 3 columns. Shifting the whole pattern with these 3 columns would be not an option for me.
