User scales

After chatting with Thomas about quantization elsewhere, I thought I'd add a few comments in here (see: https://xor-electronics.com/forum/showth...p?tid=1507).

For my part what I think would be really interesting and useful would be the possibility to have quantization via the live CV inputs too. I recently noticed the Westlicht Performer has this feature, and from what I saw it is clearly a very powerful tool in many situations. 

Some of uses for this feature could be firstly for live performance, as an example play a keyboard directly through the module without recording anything. But also control other modules elsewhere in your system. Or not unlike an Ornament and Crime, use the module as a sort of sample and hold (or is that track and hold?) feature which can be recorded or not into your project.

I guess that for some a scale choice would be the easiest system for 'quantize'. However, I think that in reality the interface that you have in the Patch menu where one can pick the notes that can be used is actually more flexible - I guess for those that already know their music theory - as it gives you the chance to make up your own scale(s).

I got a sketch already on how it will look like and the functionality. The output part as mentioned by me here is covering already the CV input quantisation so that will be in there for sure.

I actually don't know anything about what Westlicht or O&C can do and to be honest I am not into copying features from other sequencers/modules. (Check the FAQ if you want to find out why)

When you mention not copying O&C and Westlicht I totally understand. However, I don't mean one has to copy those modules functions, I just mean that NerdSeq already does some (or all) of those things already. With an extra feature such as routing a signal live to be able to quantize that signal, would be very interesting (and it just so happens the Westlicht and O&C do that to).
