Still other things to do first. Sorry for the waiting.
No worries. There is a post from April 2020 that says the i2c expander is still in its conceptual phase and not actually on the latest road map (at least it's not explicitely mentioned on the list). Since you are refering to that thread I assume that hasn't changed. Okay, good to know I wasn't missing information... Take all the time you need.

Haha, just kidding. The current roadmap is like this:
- bugfixes for things that came up with the latest release
- something cool new which will be added with the bugfix release
- sega gamepad full support (yeah)
- video expander (including a USB port, but it is not the USB midi port for the launchpad that you might thing of)
- dualchord
- USB midi expander
The latter 2 might change in order.

Actually, the I2C expander works, but the issue is here, how should the screens look like? In the end i am still limited per track with a dedicated amount of columns / possibilities. One Idea was to have the 6 columns like the CV16 for Notes/Pitch, a drummatrix, 2FX, patch, groove. That then per assigned track which gives quite some internal patchpoints to I2C.
