Edit Reason: Added more details
)
Hi. I'm new to Launchpad. I don't use or have Ableton. I bought a secondhand Launchpad Pro for use with Nerdseq.
I can't get it to work properly.
EDIT: I've finally sorted this.
Switch the Launchpad on WITH the orange MIDI dongles plugged in. Press and hold the Setup button. Press the green button in the top left to switch it in to Live mode.
The shift light is constantly white and it appears to be in some kind of notes mode, with a blue and purple lights on the grid.
I can't figure out how to change away from the Notes mode to see and control my Sequencer patterns.
The LP Pro appears to be connected to Nerdseq correctly because the Session, Note, Device and User buttons toggle mutes tracks 5, 6, 7 and 8. The top two vertical buttons at the right move the Nerdseq Sequencer screen up and down.
Pressing various buttons on the grid was entering some blobs in to some of the positions in a Trigger 16 track.
I can change between some types of note mode (Drum layout, Chromatic) using the Setup button, but none of these seem to let me see and control my Nerdseq Sequences.
I have downloaded Ableton Lite and whilst I am unfamiliar with it, it does appear to be working. I can switch between modes. When I am using it on the computer, it is conecting by USB.
If I unplug the USB cable and press Setup then choose the option of pad lighting MIDI, then the Launchpad seems to be working with Nerdseq. Session, Note, Device and User buttons function as mute toggles, and I can switch steps on and off when I am in a sequence.
If I turn the Launchpad off, it seems to revert to the previous Note mode state and I have to plug it into Ableton to sort it out, again.
I appreciate that this is a Launchpad query, and not a Nerdseq one.
Cheers,
Marizu
