I'm kind of intrigued by what I've seen w/r to launchpad and Trigger 16. Reminds me of the Tiptop Audio Circadian Rhythm - at least UI wise.
Contemplating what to get I narrowed my choices down to two options:
- Launchpad Pro MK3
- Launchpad Mini MK3
My impression is, both can be made working with the NerdSEQ.
Now for the difficult part:
Which one to choose?
The Mini most likely does all I currently want. However the Pro has 16 (2x8) additional Buttons. Would they be used by NerdSEQ?
The other feature that distinguishes the Pro from the Mini is the former is velocity and pressure sensitive. Is that something the NerdSEQ does recognize/record?
Last not least I prefer the smaller footprint of the Mini. And of course the Pro is about 3x the price of the Mini.
Has anybody of you guys experience with either or both of these units and is willing to share them?
What is your take on the question Mini or Pro?
Kind regards,
Michael
In this thread discussed, Mini MK3 doesn't have regular midi ports so it would need a USB Midi adapter.
No one knows yet if that would work. It doesn't for me out of the box but with routing via PC it works, so there is hope.
Additional buttons will most probably be never supported since I want to keep the use for all the same
Velocity and Aftertouch are things the nerdSEQ can do, but these are just regular midi things and not launchpad specific. And also here, I aim to have them all the same.
If you don't use it for your Ableton or whatever then I advice to get the old LP Pro. It has the Midi ports and works out of the box and is cheap these days.
