Midi Velocity to MOD out
#1
It would be cool to be able to route velocity from MIDI sources to the MOD out jacks on the Nerdseq. I know that currently the modulation wheel is routed to the MOD out, which is great, but a lot of MIDI sources do not have a modulation wheel. Being able to convert Velocity to CV could be very expressive. Maybe there could be an option to choose between the modulation wheel or velocity for each track.

It may also be useful to be able to set a range for the CV output. Example: (MIDI Velociy values 1-127) = (CV 1000mV - 4000mV)

Being able to record velocity into steps on a mod column as control voltage would be super awesome. That way, when you have a track set up for MIDI recording, you could easily make use of all three modular outputs on that track. You could for example send notes to an oscillator, gates to an envelope, and velocity as cv voltage to modulate filter frequency. There are a lot of applications where I think this would be very useful.

To expand on this, other midi values such as aftertouch, etc. could be 'unlocked' for use on the mod outputs. Discreet routing options could be implemented for the use of multiple MIDI values at once using multiple mod outputs controlled from one track..

Are there plans to expand Midi Routing for things like velocity, aftertouch etc. to be used as CV Mod values?

Yes, planned but not in this release.

this hasn't made it into the firmware yet has it?
looking forward to this!

assuming if live input is turned on it will pass velocity to the mod outs in real time when playing midi in too right?

This is a feature I'm always reaching for. I assumed it was hidden somewhere in a setting I didn't know about, but I guess it's not possible yet?
