Group probabilities

Smile
Hi,

Idea that i've always wanted in a sequencer...

Select a group of notes, and then have probability affect the group.

Maybe you could mark notes using a HEX command which tells them they are in a group, and then use another command to set the probability for the group.

Hope you consider Smile

Thanks!
Chris

If you turn on the probability on the first wanted note and turn it off again at the last wanted note, isn't that exactly what you want to do then?

no because that will treat each note with a different probability.

what i want is to say... play this group of 4 notes, 50% of the time... So there 4 notes are always either all playing, or all not playing.

your way would choose which of the 4 notes played each time the pattern played through.

does that make sense?

this will happen once Tables run properly as we can program the table to be a "group" of notes/triggers, and then use probability on whether the table plays or not. and also randomise which table plays! Smile

Not sure about that. The Tables take cre for the transpose of notes in the first place. And there is 1 FX column, not enough to use for both notes and triggers.
