Trigger 16 expander trigger selections question!
#1
Hello users, i recently picked up the trigger expander and have a couple questions. If anyone knows the answers please let me know  Smile

1. For track output selection, I noticed that you must change them in the track setup to use either 1-8 or 9-16 per track. Is it possible to have both 1-8 and 9-16 available on a single track instead of taking up 2 track slots which means less outputs to use for other voices. I know this is possible with the drum matrix screen where all 16 are available, but for the standard trigger value sections i cant figure out a way for this.

2. Is it possible to assign the automator to trigger 9-16. The possible options for automation only seem to be able to affect the 1-8 triggers. I tried swapping the outputs to 9-16 on a track as well but wasn't able to find the automator functions for this.

Thanks in advance!

hi emdiddy!

on page 66-67 there is the track setup page in the manual:

Swap Outputs → Swaps the first row 1..8 of the trigger expander outputs with the second row 9..16. This is as the column amount of a track is limited, so one can decide which ones to choose for direct access. Expanders can be assigned to multiple tracks. This can be for example the first 8 triggers on one track and the next 8 triggers on another track. Beside that, the other outputs are always available through the FX column and can be triggered on the Drum-Matrix.

i think you need one track to use the 1-8 outputs for standard operation and another track for outputs 9-16 for the other ''standard operation'' as well

tough, you could use only one track as well, if you do retrigs and other special trigger functions only on output 1-8 and use outputs 9-16 via the drum - matrix as normal gate/trigger outputs (without the fancy schmancy stuff i.e. retrigs)

there is surely a workaround for you to only need to assign one track  Smile

ps don't forget you can still use the FX for all outputs (if only one track is assigned)

Yes and if the destination track of the automator is swapped, then it uses either the first or the 2nd outputs.
PLEASE use the search function if something have been asked or discussed before.

I must be silly, but i cant find were to swap the automator tracks? Swapping the tracks on the sequencer screen to 9-16 still only shows 1-8 on automator.

No, the automator automatically uses the swapped function depending on the track settings. The names in the statusfield are fixed currently. I will change these in the next version. But just test it once and you will find out that if the track is swapped then the automations go automatically to outputs 9+
