Roadmap?
#1
I tried searching, hope I didn't just miss it...

I'm curious about what's next for the NerdSeq.

-I have a Launchpad Mini Mk3 which doesn't work with the NerdSeq, currently.
-I have a Sega gamepad which works for the most part, but I understood is to be looked over
-The I2C expander is pretty much a must for me
-The USB/keyboard expander is very interesting for me

As all of these, with the exception of the I2C expander, deal with manual interfacing with the module, I'd love to hear a bit about what's up ahead – it will probably affect my decisions concerning purchases. If the Launchpad Mini is on the list next, I won't bother with finding an older MK2 Pro, if the keyboard expander is incoming, I'll buy a USB keyboard, etc. and so forth.

Thanks!

Except for wanting to know if Launchpad Mini Mk3 support is in the works I don't think I understand your question, you know all these things are in the works no? Once a USB expander comes out you'll have plenty of time to get a keyboard then, worry about making music, not purchases Big Grin

Haha, just kidding. The current roadmap is like this:

- bugfixes for things that came up with the latest release
- something cool new which will be added with the bugfix release
- sega gamepad full support (yeah)
- video expander (including a USB port, but it is not the USB midi port for the launchpad that you might thing of)
- dualchord
- USB midi expander
The latter 2 might change in order.

All on it's time. Covid19 is crossing plans here and there...

Interresting to know more about the MK3 mini. It works only one side here and the other part is an incompatibility with the MK3 which most probably shows up as multiple Midi devices. And if you can handle your Midi-USB device well you should be able to solve it by configuring the midi interface. ( I assume you use some kind of adapter?). Most important is to turn off the storage mode first which is definitely in the way.

Actually, the I2C expander works, but the issue is here, how should the screens look like? In the end i am still limited per track with a dedicated amount of columns / possibilities. One Idea was to have the 6 columns like the CV16 for Notes/Pitch, a drummatrix, 2FX, patch, groove. That then per assigned track which gives quite some internal patchpoints to I2C.

Thanks for the info, sounds fantastic! What you're describing about the i2c sounds even better than I expected – really looking forward.

I didn’t know a computer keyboard was going to be supported. That would make a huge difference in productivity. A great idea! I just started playing with my nerdseq and it is really awesome. I hope to find a way to integrate it with my midi based hardware when the IO expander gets to my house. cV / gate out is really easy and obvious. Thanks
