Hyper Noob Questions
#1
The Nerdseq arrived last night. This morning I actually entered a pattern and listened to the notes. However I did not save the pattern and wiped it out with a power off power on cycle.  Then entered a larger pattern and was fooling around with the Setup Menu and Compacted the Sequencer thus wiping out my pattern again.

I've worked through most of the manual and:

1) I've not figured out how to SAVE a pattern yet. How can I do this?  Sad

Someone put out a beautiful Cheat Sheet v 1.22A but the word "save" does not appear anywhere.

2) How do I save anything else?

3) I've changed my Setup to "Save With Backups" but I don't know how to do a Backup. How can I do this?

Please do not assume I know anything about trackers. I've worked with the ER-101, the Metropolis, Sequins in Ornament and Crime, but this is my first tracker.
Thanks for your kind assistance.

Hey,
You save your project in the project screen.
Give it a name and it saves. Next time you load your project (also in the project screen) and continue to work on it.
You can also set it to autoload on the next startup (after the setting is enabled it will autoload the
next saved project).
It doesn’t have actually anything to do with trackers. With the Er-301 for example you also got to load/save projects/units.
PLEASE use the search function if something have been asked or discussed before.
Every (unnessesary) forum support means less time to develop! But of course, i am here to help!  Smile

Thanks for a super quick reply!
Cool.
So it sounds to me that the Project supersedes Tables, Patterns, etc. and it thus the central file around which unique "sound scape" is oriented.
Is is right to think that a Project should be created first and the other items under the Project is a "child process" (thinking Linux here) ?

Hehe,

thinking non-linux:
You can work on a project and save later on...or save first so it has a name and work on it. Just be sure you save again before power off. ( commit ;-) ).
It is indeed the full project which includes everything you created. They is currently no function to save only patterns/tables etc..but that it planned for a future release.

Thanks again for a quick and clear response. This gets me started and I am grateful.
This is an amazing sequencer and am looking forward to deep explorations and sonic journeys!
