Purely out of curiosity, and not as an LSDJ user but rather just as someone learning some things about it in order to deepen my knowledge, provide more context to how NerdSEQ came to be the way that it is, etc...
Thomas, did you consider including Chains during the evolution of NerdSEQ? I’m curious as to the thought process that went into NerdSEQ reflecting so much of LSDJ but not Chains.
Thanks in advance for any insight you might be able to provide!

Actually, I had from the begin (already with the NerdSYNTH, long before the NerdSEQ) the plan to get rid of the chain screen.
First, it would be an additional screen which would mean an additional button (and i definitely didn't want to browse through the screens but have a button per screen).
Second, the NerdSEQ can do 64 steps per pattern instead of 16 steps/pattern.
Third, it adds unnessessary complexity with the arrangement (and trust me on that, I teached plenty of LSDJ workshops in the last 18 years or so and the only really difficult thing to understand for people was the added abstraction of chains).
Fourth, NerdSEQ patterns have up to 64 steps and so the chaining of four 16step patterns is not necessary anymore.
Additionally the basenote FX can provide a similar thing than the transpose that you maybe would use for a 64 step variation.
Chains are actually a low-memory decision for old platforms, so longer (and more chained) patterns with a bit of variations could be made.
But more trackers and ideas have been my inspirations than LSDJ and LGPT.

That reasoning totally makes sense and is roughly what I figured it might be.
“But more trackers and ideas have been my inspirations than LSDJ and LGPT.”
Absolutely! I hope my message didn’t come across sounding as if I thought there was just the one source of inspiration.
Thanks for the insights, Thomas. I always appreciate opportunities to validate/invalidate my assumptions and interpretations, and it is great to peek further into the mind of a module creator, especially to help get the most out of deeper modules.
