Smoothing midi CC changes
#1
I was sending midi from my Moog Sub37 into the nerdseq and recording knob twiddles. It is recording the midi CC changes but when I play it back into the sub37 all CC messages sound stepped (as expected) I am wondering if there is a way to smooth out midi CC changes to not sound stepped.
I understand it is not a continuous recording but if there was a way to glide/smooth the stepped CC changes on the output, that would be enough.
Is there a way to do this or would it be possible in a future update?

From the sequences there is not more possible. There is no glide setting for cc. Your best resolution is there the steps. And it is also not planned and either possible to have a higher resolution or to add glide.

But with some little tricks you could maybe get similar results:
Record into a cv/gate track and use the modwheel so it records into the mod column.
Enable glide for this Mod output. Patch this mod output (offset to 0-10volt) to a cv input.
Add an automator with this cv input and choose the midi cc as destination.
If you play it back now it should be much closer to your recorded results.
You might also reduce the automator - cc generation as it is generating much midi data. You can do that in the track setup of the midi track.

Else if you just want to have a random modulation flow, you can just cascade automators and choose the CC as destination. Take also care here to reduce the modi data flow.

What comes in my mind then is to have also the usual cv/mod outputs as a automator input, so the extra patch is not necessary but it would be internal patched.
