How to randomize notes from a scale?

Yes random hops are also a possibility of course.

I imagine that provides a whole extra layer of control over the probability of specific amounts of transposition, by way of populating them into the table steps more or less frequently. Nice!

Yup, and of course the tables themselves can have probabilities set.

old thread, new question. not sure if this question deserves its own thread [move it should you think it does needs its own thread]

is there a way to use the random fill, but have it chose notes within a scale? from time to time I want to break out of my usual patterns. not a fan of constantly changing patterns.

Fill within a scale is planned. Scaling is going to be a thing from the next firmware, not sure how deep yet since I really got to hurry up with the release, but it will for sure be there and also in a combined and flexible way.
