Accessing Tables

Pressing Table, with a table selected in a modular track - all good.  However if I want to edit a new table I've selected from an FX (could be anywhere) I have to go and find a table and press Table.  Any reason why just pressing Table doesn't open the Table menu?

Basically, I'm trying to use the TABL FX from a CV16 track.  It seems I have to create a table from a modular track first to initialise it.  But even after doing this it doesn't seem to be working.

Ah OK. I had seen that but thought it should still work from an FX for some reason. Thanks.
