Havent had the following issue before using these candidate updates.
Trigger 16.
in a new pattern programming trigger 1-2 prob% as example. When i start a new pattern after it is still playing these trigger prob.
The whole fx list is empty in the new pattern.
Cheers.
Thats the behaviour as it always have been.
Probability is like most other functions like a knob that you turn to a position and it stays like this until you set it back (or use the settings to auto reset)

Is there a function like "**" in the sequencer screen that instead of stopping the sequence, it will continue the sequence? So say you have a pattern starting on 00 of track 1, but you want something to start on track 2 on sequence step 02. Right now, I either have to create a blank pattern and fill in that space or use the Pattern FX STSP. Same issue if I do use a "**", but want a gap of 2 sequence steps. I'd like to see something like "**", but filled like ">>" which just means play continuation. Does this exist already? If not, I'd like to make it a feature request.

There is no function like this. I don’t think it would make too much sense because patterns do have different lengths and so the length of the gap is never known. And it is not possible to make variations of that.
Just create a pattern for that.

Ah, I see. I didn't think about the varying pattern sizes. There probably could be a way to make an entry that you can configure the step amount to fill. But that might get more complicated an interface than just using a pattern. I can use colors to suggest that the patterns are "empty" for now.
Thanks.

Just installed the latest RC candidate on my new Nerdseq (I'm on day 4 with it) and am really loving the ability to set MIDI channel per column, really there are so many good new features in these betas, thank you for your hard work!

I might be weird, but I think a monophonic MIDI view (so note/velocity + the three FX lanes) would be cool!

New firmware sounds great! Can someone explain a bit about how the add / sub / mul / div stuff works? Is this to allow a version of 'relative' values for parameters? So what I'm wondering is can you for example use subtract in a table to act as an envelope by looping it? So put an FX in for say volume. The on the table use sub, loop it fast and it will go to zero? Any other cool uses of it? It seems a powerful improvement.
Sorry if this is a basic question, but I don't have the nerdseq yet (waiting for the portable)! I've been watching videos of the M8 tracker, which I believe always has relative fx values, so you can put volume in teh tablee and loop it and it will not reset the volume to teh given value but subtract it or add it to the current value.

Check the pre-manual about how to use it. But basically it says add value X to the last used FX function from an colum. And if you use it from a table, you can have fast transisions of it.
As a small note about the portable, I think this will not happen until next year. Mainly it is impossible to produce it. You probably know about the shortage of components and lead times of 1 year +. This is what I also have to deal with.
I think the M8 would be for sure a good option for now since it is available soon. I can't guarantee anything. as mentioned I will finish the expanders first and get fully back to the portable after that. But then it will surely look worse in the IC market.

Since the example is nearby, and though I don’t know how recently you’ve spoken with Tim so you may very well already know this, but M8 has had to recently swap out some components in order to avoid being hit hard by these shortages, and even then is still pending some components on back order. These are definitely stress-inducing times.

Geecen: M8 is really promising, and I personally see it as different enough from NerdSEQ (Portable) to not consider one better or worse, rather that they are just different from one another in various ways. I’m sure I’ll have both in the end. You should too. Get your pre-order in while they’re still open.
